연령별 출산율 적합을 위한 모수적 모형에 대한 연구

국문 초록

연령별 출산율은 전통적으로 종 모양의 단봉 형태를 띄고 있었으나, 서구 국가를 중심으로 쌍봉 형태로 변화하고 있다. 이와 같은 연령별 출산율을 적합하고, 예측하기 위해 다양한 혼합 모들이 제안되었다. 이와 같은 혼합 모형은 쌍봉 형태 뿐만 아니라, 비대칭의 단봉 형태에도 적합한 것으로 알려져 있다. 그러나 이 모형들은 단봉 형태의 연령별 출산율에 이용되었을 시, 비록 적합도는 뛰어나나, 과대 추정의 문제점이 존재하는 것으로 알려져 있다. 우리나라의 연령별 출산율은 과거 비대칭의 단봉 형태를 띄고 있었으나, 시간이 지남에 따라 대칭형으로 바뀌고 있다. 본 연구에서는 기존 연구에서는 시도되지 않은 가설 검정을 통해 혼합 모형의 적합성에 대해 파악하고자 한다. 이를 위해 우리나라 자료에 적합도가 가장 뛰어나다고 알려진 Peristera와 Kostaki의 혼합 모형을 이용하여 두 하위 집단의 평균이 동일한지를 검정한다. 또한 비대칭 뿐만 아니라 대칭 형태의 출산율에도 적합한 기울어진 정규분포 및 T 분포를 소개 및 제안하도록 하며, 제한한 모형들을 쌍봉 또는 단봉 형태의 연령별 출산율을 적합하기 위해 제안된 다른 모수적 모형들과 비교하고자 한다.

영문 초록

Traditionally, age specific fertility rates have a typical bell-shaped curve. In recent years, the patterns of age specific fertility rates have been changing to bimodal shapes in some developed countries. To fit changed age specific fertility rates, various mixture models have been suggested. It has been known that mixture models are appropriate for fitting bell shaped curves as well as bimodal shaped curve. However, mixture models are overparameterized when they are fitted to unimodal shaped age specific fertility rates. In Korea, the shape of age specific fertility rates age is changing from asymmetric unimodal shape to symmetric one. In this paper, evaluation of mixture model is performed by using hypothesis test which has not be done in researches about fitting age specific fertility rates. Under the mixture model suggested by Peristera and Kostaki which has best-fit to Korean fertility data, the equality of means of two sub-populations is tested. Furthermore, asymmetric functions which is useful for fitting asymmetric unimodal shape as well as symmetric one are proposed. These models are compared to various other methods.
