국문 초록

본 연구는 중국 노동계의 기념비적 사건으로 알려진 2010년 5월 혼다자동차의 신세대 농민공(migrant workers) 파업 사태를 다루고 있다. 이를 통해 신세대 농민공이라는 집단이 지니는 특성과 권익 및 욕구를 분석하되 중국경제의 성장방식, 인구구조, 노동수급의 전환 추세와 연관지어 검토하고 있다. 특히 본 논문은 Knight(1992)의 협상게임 모형을 사용하여 신세대 농민공의 등장이 노사관계나 노사단체협상 역량 및 균형의 변화에 미치는 영향을 구세대 농민공의 경우와 비교하여 분석하고 있다. 결론에서는 혼다차 파업사건의 전시효과(demonstration effect)에 따른 모방이 확산되는 것에 유의하여, 외자기업에 필요한 대응방안(‘허시에’(和解)관리 등)을 제안하고 있다.

영문 초록

Examining the case of the Nanhai Honda strike leading to the shutdown of Honda’s four vehicle assembly plants in China, in May 2010, which is considered to be the most influential and representative incident taking place in current Chinese labor world, this paper attempts to analyze the group characteristics of Chineses new generation rural migrant workers (so called Nongmingong) and the change of their interests and appeals under the background of transformation in economic development mode, population structure, and labor supply and demand in China. Such distinguishing group of new-generation workers and their attitudinal change, as compared to the older generation, are very meaningful in that they influence the shift of balance of power in collective bargaining, the matter about which this paper uses a simplified game theory model (Knight, 1992) to explain, and consequently recommending that foreign-invested firms in China have a harmonious management strategies and countermeasures such as a dynamically upgraded and systematic human resources management cycle.
