유튜브 영상 네트워크 중심성 지표들에 대한 고찰

국문 초록

이 연구는 유튜브 영상 연결망 분석에서 산출되는 네트워크 중심성 지표들이 영상 조회 수에 어떠한 영향력을 나타내는 지를 탐지했다. 구체적으로 이 연구는 다양한 네트워크 중심성 지표들 중에서 유튜브 공간에 대한 분석에 활용할 수 있는 적절한 중심성 지표를 밝히려는 목적이 있다. 폭력 이슈에 대한 유튜브 영상 연결망 구조 분석으로 산출된 중심성 지표들을 중심으로 영상 조회수에 대한 회귀분석을 연도별로 수행했다. 2007년부터 2019년 9월까지의 유튜브 영상 데이터 분석 결과, 페이지랭크 중심성과 고유벡터 중심성이 상대적으로 긍정적이고 안정적인 영향력을 나타냈다. 특히, 페이지랭크 중심성의 경우, 유튜브 분석에 있어서 방향성 있는 연결망 구조에 대한 영향력을 탐지하는 네트워크 중심성 지표로 활용 가능성이 높은 것으로 살펴졌다. 반면 연결정도 중심성, 근접 중심성, 매개 중심성, 군집계수 등은 부(-)적 영향력을 나타내거나 유의미하지 않은 경우가 자주 발생함으로써 안정적이지 못한 특성을 나타냈다. 이 연구는 유튜브 영상 네트워크 중심성 지표들에 대한 영향력 탐지가 다양한 이슈나 주제들과 관련해서 지속적으로 진행될 필요성을 제기한다.

영문 초록

This study examines how network centrality indices produced by YouTube video network analysis indicate the impact on the number of video views. Specifically, this study aims to explore appropriate centrality indices that can be used for analysis of YouTube space. Regression analyses were conducted year by year, focusing on the centrality indices produced by the network analysis of YouTube videos on violent issues. According to the analysis results of YouTube video data from 2007 to September 2019, the pagerank and eigenvector centrality showed a relatively positive and stable influence on the view counts. In particular, for the pagerank centrality, it was considered highly likely to be used as a network centrality index to detect its influence on a directional network structure. On the other hand, the degree centrality, closeness centrality, betweenness centrality, and cluster coefficients were often indicative of negative (-) influence and were often not significant, resulting in unsteady characteristics. This study raises the need for the detection of influence on YouTube video network centrality indices to be carried out continuously regarding various issues and topics.
