국문 초록

패널조사에서는 동일 집단이나 개인에 대해 반복 측정된 결과들을 다루게 되는데, 이때 반응변수가 범주형인 경우에 시간흐름에 따른 변화를 분석하기 위한 분석방법이 잘 알려져 있지 않거나 제한돼 있어 관련 연구가 거의 이루어지고 있지 않고 있다. 특히 일련의 설명변수와의 인과관계가 아니라 명목형 반응변수의 응답결과의 시간변화에 따른 각각의 패턴들의 변화가 어떻게 나타나는가에 대한 분석은 더욱 까다롭다. 왜냐하면 동일한 개체가 제한된 항목들이더라도 이들을 매회 어떻게 선택하느냐에 따라 조사기간 동안에 나타날 수 있는 패턴들은 기하급수적으로 늘어나기 때문이다. 잠재마르코프모형은 시점에 따른 변화에 대해 마르코프과정을 가정함으로써 패널자료로부터 수집된 범주형 반응변수값이 개체 혹은 집단 내에서 나타나는 변화를 살펴보기 위한 목적에서 매우 효과적인 분석방법이다. 본 연구에서는 잠재마르코프모형에서 사용하는 접근방법과 더불어 모형의 구조와 추정방법 등에 대해 소개하고자 한다. 이와 더불어 최근까지 조사된 한국미디어패널자료를 이용하여 TV 방송프로그램 선호 장르의 변화를 잠재마르코프모형을 이용한 분석 결과를 제시하였다.

영문 초록

Panel surveys deal with repeated measures for the same group or individual. But, methods for analyzing changes over time when the response variables are categorical are not well known or limited, because few studies have been conducted. In particular, it is more difficult to analyze how each pattern changes with the change of time in the response result of the nominal response variable rather than the causal relationship with the explanatory variables. This is because, even if the same individuals have limited items, the patterns that can appear during the survey increase exponentially depending on how they are selected each time. The latent Markov model is a very effective method for investigating changes in categorical response variables collected from panel survey within individuals or groups by assuming the Markov process for changes over time. This study introduces the approach used in the latent Markov model, as well as the structure and estimation of the model. In addition, the results of the analysis using latent Markov model are presented using the Korea media panel survey data collected until recently.
