국문 초록

본 연구는 최근 관객의 중요성이 점차 부각됨에 따라 미술관이나 대형 갤러리와 같은 미술 기관의 차원에서 행해지는 새로운 교육의 유형을 분석함으로써, 동시대에 능동적으로 변화하고 확장하는 미술교육의 흐름으로부터 또 다른 미술교육 방법론의 가능성을 모색하는 것에 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 미술교육 영역에서의 혁신을 선두에서 추진해 온 테이트 미술관의 미술교육 정책을 중심으로 연구를 진행한다. 이 연구는 문헌연구와 웹 데이터를 기반으로 한 자료 수집, 구체적인 사례 연구와 같은 방법론을 기초로 진행한다. 이를 통해 특정한 교육부서 신설을 중심으로 기획된 테이트의 미술교육 정책 구조와 개념을 선행하여 이해하고, 그 운영의 실제 사례 및 실효성 그리고 결과 수집 및 게재 자료를 고찰하여 미술교육 프로그램의 자산화 방법과 그 가치와 의미를 다시금 복기한다. 테이트 미술교육 정책의 핵심은 바로 기존에 일반적으로 통용되던 일방향적 교육의 개념을 실천의 형식으로 전환하여 실효성을 획득하는 동시에, 연구라는 학술적 태도로 이를 기획하고 재고하면서 그에 수반하는 기관 차원에서의 교육 방법론의 다양화를 성취했다는 것에 큰 의의가 있다. 이와 같은 연구를 통해 점차 주목받는 미술관 교육의 고도화 전략 수립에 대한 가능성을 높이고 그 효과적 방안의 실마리를 발견하고자 한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to explore the possibility of another art educational methodology from the current flow of art education that actively changes and expands at the same time, by analyzing the new types of education at the level of art institutions such as art museums and large-scale galleries as the importance of the audience has gradually recently been highlighted. For this, the research will focus on Tate s art educational policy, which has been pushing innovation in the international field of art education. The study is conducted through methodologies such as literature research, data collection based on web data, and specific case studies. Through this process, the art educational policy structure and concept of Tate, which was planned around the creation of a specific education department, are understood in advance, and the actual case and effectiveness of its operation and the result collection and publication data are reviewed to re-repeat how and its value and meaning of the art educational program. The core of Tate’s art educational policy is its great significance: it has transformed the concept of one-way education, which has been commonly used, into a form of practice to achieve its effectiveness, while diversifying its methodology at the institutional level, planning and rethinking it with an academic attitude. Through such research, I would like to raise the possibility of developing strategies for upgrading the education of museums, which are increasingly drawing attention, and find clues to their effective measures.
