국문 초록

2015 개정 중학교 음악과 교육과정 성취기준에 음악극의 창작이 언급됨에 따라 모든 현행 교육과정 중학교 교과서에서 음악극이 소개되고 있다. 이에 여러 음악극 장르의 교육에 대한 탐구와 발전이 요구되는 가운데, 이 연구는 먼저 교과서가 오페라를 어떻게 다루었는지 분석하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 연구자들은 내용분석을 통해 중학교 음악 교과서 14종에 나타난 오페라 관련 학습 내용의 목표와 구체적인 활동, 다루어진 악곡 및 자료의 특징을 파악하고, 이를 활용하여 중학교에서 오페라를 비롯한 음악극 관련 내용을 균형 있게 학습하기 위해 어떤 방법과 접근이 필요한지 논의하였다. 분석 결과로 오페라 관련 학습 내용 제시 방법을 5가지 유형으로 범주화하고, 교과서에 나타난 오페라 작품 및 악곡의 특징과 경향을 파악하고, 악보의 가사와 제목이 제시되는 방법을 분석하여, 오페라 학습에 적절한 방법 및 교실 현장에서 예상되는 한계점을 보완할 수 있는 접근에 대해 논의하였다. 학교에서의 음악극 학습을 통해 학생들이 오페라를 비롯한 교과서에서 다루어지는 다양한 음악극들을 상호 유기적인 맥락에서 이해하고 보다 실제적으로 경험하기 위해서는, 각 음악극 분야의 전문인들이 학습에 용이한 자료들을 개발하여 제공하고, 교사들을 위한 교육이 지속적으로 이루어져야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

As 2015 Korean National Standards of music for secondary schools refers ‘creating music drama,’ every music textbook includes music drama and related activities in the contents. Thus there is demand for exploration and development on learning of diverse genres categorized in music drama; and this study aimed to analyze firstly how music textbooks deal with opera in their contents. Content analysis method was used in order to analyze 14 secondary music textbooks; researchers examined learning goals and activities, works and resources of opera in the textbooks, and discussed how those contents can be utilized or complemented for optimal learning outcomes. As a result, researchers sorted opera related learning contents in the textbooks into five styles, and identified the tendency of opera works and pieces as well as the lyrics and titles of those works presented in the textbooks. These results led discussions on approaches for productive opera learning and ways to supplement anticipated limitations in a classroom. More efforts of professionals from diverse genres of music drama are required in order for middle school students to understand diverse genres of music drama more comprehensively, and experience more lively.
