협동학습에 관한 고등학생의 인식 연구

국문 초록

사회의 급속한 변화와 함께 교실 수업에 대한 혁신이 요청되고 있다. 협동학습은 오랜 전통을 가진 학습자 중심 수업모형으로서 많은 선행연구를 통해 인지적·정의적 측면의 효과가 높은 것으로 확인되었다. 본 연구의 목적은 협동학습을 경험한 고등학생의 인식을 파악하여 고등학교 수업혁신을 위한 시사점을 도출하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 경기도 B시 소재 고등학교 1학년 학생 46명을 대상으로 2019년 8월 19일부터 같은 해 12월 2일까지의 기간 동안 ‘팀 보조 개별학습 모형(TAI)’을 적용한 협동학습을 진행하고 은유분석으로 학습 경험에 관한 고등학생의 인식을 파악하였다. 연구결과, 협동학습에 관한 고등학생의 은유표현은 ‘①교사가 아니라 학생이 직접 하는 활동, ②재미있는 활동, ③다른 친구와 함께 협력하고 소통하는 활동, ④불확실하고 불안한 활동, ⑤시끄러워 집중이 어렵고 일부 학생만 참여하는 활동’의 다섯 가지로 유형화할 수 있었다. 이로부터 고등학교 수업혁신에 다음과 같은 시사점을 도출하였다. 첫째, 고등학교 수업혁신을 위해서는 수업을 규정하는 경쟁적 대입제도의 근본적 개혁이 필요하다. 둘째, 이를 위해 대입 전형에서 학교 교사에 의한 내부평가 결과를 필수적으로 반영하기 위한 구체적인 방안을 마련해야 하며, 여기에는 개별 교사의 평가권을 보장하는 내용이 포함되어야 한다. 셋째, 사회적 통합 기능을 수행하는 학교, 다른 사람과 협력하고 의사소통하는 학습의 장으로서 수업으로 패러다임의 전환이 필요하다.

영문 초록

There is a call for innovation in classroom lessons in the midst of rapid social changes. It has been verified through a number of precedent studies that cooperative learning, a long-established learner-oriented class model, is highly effective in cognitive and emotional aspects. The present study tries to understand the perceptions of high-school students, who have experienced cooperative learning, to form inferences about innovative high-school classes based on the findings. This study was conducted on 46 first-year students, who attending high school in a city of Gyeonggi-do between August 19 and December 2 of 2019, while cooperative learning was carried out employing ‘Team Assisted Individualization’. Using metaphor analysis, the study identified the students’ perceptions of their learning experiences, and metaphorical expressions regarding cooperative learning were categorized into the following five types: ①an activity where only the students participate; ②a fun activity; ③an activity where students cooperate and communicate with others; ④an uncertain and anxious activity; and ⑤a noisy and distracting activity where only a few of the students participate. The implications of these findings for high school class innovation are as follows: First, there is a need to reform the fundamentals of the competitive college entrance system, which defines classes, to recognize class innovation in high schools. Second, to do so, a specific measure should be put in place during college admissions to reflect the results of internal evaluations made by teachers that guarantees individual teachers’ right to evaluate. Lastly, paradigm shifts in schools and classes are required; schools need to become an institution for carrying out social integration and classes should provide opportunities to practice cooperation and communication with others
