초등 토론에서 드러난 부적절한 태도 양상과 교육 방안 연구

국문 초록

본고는 초등 토론에서 드러난 부적절한 태도 양상을 살피고 공동체 대인관계 역량 신장을 위해 토론에서의 태도 교육에 대한 방향성을 제시하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 교육의 실제성과 맥락성을 고려하여 실제 토론 담화에서 나타나는 부적절한 태도의 양상을 유형화하여 분석하였고 개선 방향으로서 토론 교육에서 그동안 피상적으로 다루었던 태도 교육의 내용을 구체적으로 제시하였다. 국어과 교육과정 듣기·말하기에서 제시한 태도 교육 내용을 바탕으로 실제 토론 담화를 분석하였다. 분석 결과 초등 토론에서는 화자에 대한 적대적 반응이 부적절한 태도로 드러났는데, 상대방에 대한 부정적 평가, 평가절하의 표현, 비난과 질책을 포함한 부정적 끼어들기, 부적절한 호칭, 상대의 말 자르기, 근거에 대한 의심 드러내기, 실수 공론화하기 등의 양상이 드러났다. 부적절한 태도는 주로 청자에 대한 적대적 반응의 양상으로 나타나는데, 이를 개선하기 위해서는 청자의 반응에 대해 지나치게 격한 감정 노출을 삼가도록 하고, 화자 스스로 자신의 감정을 조절하면서 말하기를 하도록 교육해야 한다. 특히 상대를 배려하는 공감적 화법 방식을 이론적으로 제시하기보다는 토론 태도에 대한 교육 내용이 구체적으로 제시되어야 한다. 토론 중에 문제적 태도가 포착되었을 경우 교사가 개입하여 즉각적으로 교정해 주는 방법, 잘못된 태도의 사례들을 제시하면서 학습자 스스로 문제점을 찾아가도록 하는 메타 대화 분석의 방법이 직접적인 교육의 내용으로 제시되어야 한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this paper is to examine the pattern of inappropriate attitudes revealed in elementary debate and to provide direction for attitude education in debate to increase community interpersonal capacity. Considering the actuality and context of education, this study analyzes the patterns of inappropriate attitudes in the actual debate and presents the contents of attitude education that has been superficially dealt with in debate education as a direction of improvement. The actual debate was analyzed based on the attitude education contents suggested in Korean language curriculum listening and speaking. In elementary debate, the hostile response to the speaker was found to be inadequate, negative assessment of the other person, expression of devaluation, negative interruptions, including criticism and reproach, inadequate titles, cutting of the opponent s words, revealing doubts of evidence, aspects such as publicizing mistakes were revealed. Inappropriate attitudes often appear in the form of hostile reactions to the listener. To improve this, the listener should be encouraged to refrain from exposing his/her emotions excessively and to speak to the speaker by controlling his/her feelings. In particular, rather than theoretically suggesting a sympathetic method of caring for others, the content of attitudes should be presented concretely, and if a problem attitude is caught in the middle of debate, the teacher can intervene and correct it immediately. The method of meta-conversation analysis that allows learners to find problems while presenting examples of wrong attitudes should be presented and used as the content of direct education.
