배재대학교 교양 글쓰기 과목의 운영 체계와 발전방안 모색

국문 초록

이 논문은 기존의 배재대학교의 글쓰기 관련 교과목을 분석하고, 현재 운영하고 있는 여러 프로그램을 소개함으로써 향후 <사고와 표현>이 읽기와 쓰기, 말하기와 듣기의 통합교과목으로서 역할을 담당할 수 있는 방안을 모색한 것이다. 배재대학교의 글쓰기 1기 교재는 <논리적 글쓰기>, <과학글쓰기>, <문서작성연습> 등에서 사용되었으며, 우리말과 글에 대한 중요성을 깨닫고 문학 작품을 통해 자신을 되돌아보고 사회 전반에 대한 이해를 높일 수 있도록 구성되었다. 이 시기 개설된 교과목의 교수목표는 대학생이 갖추어야 할 기본적인 글쓰기 능력과 대학 졸업 이후에도 필요한 글쓰기 능력을 신장시키는 데 있었다. 2기 교재는 1기 교재의 구성을 대폭 개편하여 인문·사회계열과 이공계열로 구분하였다는 점이 특징이라 하겠다. 교재 내용은 각 계열별로 대학과 사회에서 요구하는 글쓰기의 형식과 실례가 제시되었다. 2기 교재의 사용 시 교수목표는 다양한 텍스트의 읽기를 전제로 자기주도적 글쓰기로 나아갈 수 있게 한다는 데 있었다. 지금까지 있었던 다양한 글쓰기 교과목은 2012년에 <사고와 표현>으로 통일되고 3기 교재로의 개편을 알린다. <사고와 표현>은 사고력을 기르는 동시에 이력서, 자기소개서, 보고서 작성법 등을 익혀 대학생에게 요구되는 실용적 글쓰기 능력의 배양이라는 교수목표를 설정하였다. 교재에는 한글맞춤법과 관련된 내용을 상당 부분 강화하였고, 읽기와 쓰기가 균형을 이루도록 고려하였다. 그러나 새로운 교재 구성과 목표 설정에도 불구하고 <사고와 표현>은 교과목 운영이 평면적이고 단편적이라는 문제점이 발견되었다. 학생들은 해당 수업 중에 각 주제에 대한 예시문을 읽고, 분석하여 말해 보는 일련의 과정을 거치게 되지만, 주 2시간이라는 제한된 시간에 모든 것을 실현하는 것에 한계가 있다. 그래서 이를 해결하기 위한 방안이 강구되었는데, 바로 글쓰기 능력 강화(글쓰기교실, 독서에세이 대회), 읽기 능력 강화(읽기인증제, 한힌샘 책다방, 북쉐어링), 말하기 능력 강화(독서토론대회)등과 관련된 프로그램의 운영이다. 그러나 <사고와 표현>이 의사소통 역량을 강화시키는 통합교과목으로서 자리매김하기 위해서는 위와 같은 프로그램이 교과목 내에서 이루어질 수 있는 실질적인 방안을 모색해야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this paper aims to the textbooks and teaching objectives of the existing subject related courses, also introduces related programs of which is operated by Paichai University. In this study, we divide the writing process so far into three groups, focusing on teaching materials, learning activities, and teaching goals. The 1st written textbooks was used in subjects such as , and . This book is structured to recognize the importance of Korean language and writing, to look back on itself through literary works, and to enhance understanding of the society as a whole. The purpose of the curriculum that was opened at the time of the 1st textbook was to improve the basic writing skills that college students should have and the ability to write after university graduation. The 2st textbook is divided into humanities and social sciences and science and engineering sciences. This textbook provides examples and types of writing required in college and society. The teaching objective of the course using the second textbook was to make it possible to advance to self - directed writing based on reading various texts. However, as a result of examining the teaching objectives of the subjects using the first and second textbooks, it was confirmed that there is a lack of realization of integrated education which is strengthening communication capacity because it is focused on writing. On the other hand, Paichai University unifies writing related subjects into in 2012. The teaching purpose of is cultivation of practical writing ability required for college students to develop their thinking ability. In the 3st textbook used in this course, the contents related to Hangul spelling have been strengthened to make reading and writing balance. However, in spite of the new textbook and goal setting, was found to be problematic in that the curriculum was flat and fragmented. To solve this problem, Paichai University created a curriculum linkage program. So, there is a plan to solve it. It is strengthening of writing ability (writing class, reading essay contest), strengthening of reading ability (reading certification system, Hanhinsaem bookshop, booksharing), and strengthening of speaking ability (reading discussion competition). In order to become an integrated subject, should be able to cultivate talented people with creative and critical thinking skills, and talented people who have developed a balanced understanding and expression ability through the above-mentioned linkage program.
