노이즈리덕션 방법에 대한 연구

국문 초록

본 논문은 1980년대에 녹음된 논매기소리의 디지털 변환 방법에 대한 연구로서, 녹음된 자료의 보존가치가 크므로, 보존과 활용 가치를 높이기 위해 디지털데이터 및 악보로 전환되어야 한다. 아날로그 사운드 소스는 보존하는 것에 많은 문제점을 가지고 있으며 녹음단계에서부터 저장환경이 열악하여 더 이상 방치할 수 없는 단계에 이르렀다. 카세트테이프데크의 고유의 노이즈를 제거하는 단계에 대한 연구는 변환 속도 및 디지털 환경에서 적응하고 양질의 보존을 위해 중요하다. 디지털 변환 과정, 노이즈제거 과정, 음의 보강 및 마스터링 과정에서 어떻게 하면 각종 노이즈를 줄이고 디지털 데이터로 보존할 수 있는지에 대한 다양한 접근 방식을 선택하였다. 논매기소리를 샘플로 하여 다음과 같은 처리과정을 얻을 수 있었다. 첫째, 아날로그카세트테이프를 Play& Recording하여 Wave형태로 저장. 둘째, 클릭 노이즈, 험, 디스토션노이즈는 편집으로 제거. 셋째, 히스노이즈를 줄이기 위하여 X-Noise를 적용하여 제거. 넷째, 공조음과 모터잡음을 줄이기 위해 EQ를 사용. 다섯째, 음의 보강을 위해 EQ와 Dynamics를 사용하고, 최종 출력을 위해 Maximizer, UV22HR를 사용하여 다양한 비트수와 샘플레이트로 출력하였다. 이 결과 아날로그 카세트테이프로 저장된 소스를 노이즈 없이 양질의 디지털 데이터로 저장할 수 있게 되었다.

영문 초록

This paper is a study on the digital conversion methods of sounds of rice field weeding which were recorded in the 1980s. Due to importance of preservation values of the data, they should be retained as digital data and musical notes. There are a lot of problems in keeping analogue sound sources. And, it reached a stage that the sources cannot be neglected anymore because the storage environment is poor from the stage of recording. A study on a step to remove intrinsic noise of cassette tape decks is important in adapting to conversion speed and digital environment and retaining the sounds in good conditions. So, in courses such as digital conversion, noise reduction, sound reinforcement, and mastering, diverse approach ways how to reduce various noises and preserve the digital data were selected. From making the sounds of rice field weeding a sample, the next treatment course could be obtained. First, analogue cassette tapes are made to be recorded in a wave form from the playing & recording. Second, click noise, hum, distortion noise are made to be removed by edit. Third, to lessen hiss noise, x-noise is applied to it. Fourth, to decrease noise of air conditioning equipment and motor noise, EQ is used. Fifth, to supplement sound, EQ and dynamics are used. For the final output, by using a maximizer and UV22HR, it was output by various bit numbers and sample rates. From the result, sources which are stored by analogue cassette tapes came to be saved into high-quality digital data without noise.
