국문 초록

본고는 해방 이후부터 1950년대 집필된 근대문학 관련 문단 회고록 기사를 고찰하여 1950년대 재구성되는 근대문학의 개념을 논의하고자 한다. 특히 문학사를 내용으로 하는 회고록은 개인의 기억이 역사적 의미까지 내포한다는 점에서 집단기억으로 인식해야 한다. 집단기억은 회상, 개인의 증언, 구술사 등 개인 기억의 집합이나 집단적 재현 혹은 집단 정체성을 의미하는 문화적 유산이다. 따라서 집단에 의해 승인된 과거 회상의 행위는 현재 욕망에 의해 생성된 역동적인 과거다. 1950년대 문학 제도적․정치적 차원의 가시적인 성과물이 두드러지게 나타났다. 남한 문단의 정통성을 만들어내고자 하는 욕망은 문학의 내․외적 제도를 만들어 나갔다. 당시 근대문학을 기억하는 문학사적 회고록을 반복적으로 게재한 것 역시 근대문학의 개념을 재정립하고자 하는 1950년대의 의도가 내재된 것이다. 해방 이후 집필된 회고록은 기억이라는 프레임을 통해 반(反)계몽주의적 문학관이 승리했다는 사실효과를 만들어냈다. 이는 근대문학의 개념을 재정립하고 남한문단의 정통성을 확립하는데 일정한 기여를 했다. 『창조』와 김동인을 근대문학의 효시로 의미화 했으며 동인지 중심의 순수문학 활동을 근대문학사의 계보로 설명했다. 이는 결과적으로 이광수를 중심으로 하는 계몽주의 문학관의 의미를 축소시켰으며, 카프문학의 문학사적 의미를 배제시켰다. 당시 회고록은 근대문학의 역사적 범주에서 계몽주의를 배제하고 동인지를 중심으로 하는 순수문학의 계보를 구축하였다.

영문 초록

This discussion aims to discuss about the concept of modern literature desired in the 1950s by studying memoir articles published in literary circles with the main focus on modern literature from the liberation to the 1950s. Collective memory is a collection of personal memories, such as recollections, personal testimony and oral history, or cultural heritage meaning collective representation or collective identity. The recalling behavior is a process of recreating new memories after selecting the past approved by the current community. In this sense, memoirs are individuals’ recalling of the past endorsed by their community. Tangible products from the institutional and political perspectives in the 1950s’ literature were noticeable. This is in line with an institutional establishment for securing South Korean literature circles’ legitimacy. The fact that there were many memoir articles that recollect modern literature back then was also an attempt made in the 1950s to reestablish the concept of modern literature. Memoirs in the 1950s repeatedly mentioned pure literature-oriented history that extends to creation and ruins, and, as a consequence, this highlighted literary historical meaning of creation led by Kim Dong-in. The literary view in the 1950s started to reduce the Lee Gwang-su s literary historical meaning and excluded the discussion on the KAPF to argue that the Enlightenment’s literary view has strayed away from the essence of literature.
