비평적 사고능력 함양을 위한 팀 기반 학습 중심 문화수업 설계의 방향

국문 초록

이 논문의 연구목적은 학습자 중심 협력학습을 지향하는 팀 기반 학습을 염두에 둔 문화수업의 설계 방향 및 문화수업에서의 비평적 사고와 토론 활성화를 논의하는 것이다. 연구방법은 팀 기반 학습의 이론과 TBL을 활용한 문화수업의 설계에 관한 국내외 문헌을 검토하고 사례들을 활용하여 수업설계의 방향을 제안하는 것이다. 먼저 팀 기반 학습(TBL)의 특성에 대해 정의, 장점, 요소, 단계 등을 중심으로 정리하였다. 이어서 TBL 방식을 문화수업의 설계에 활용하는 것에 대해 준비 확인 과정, 적용 활동, 동료 평가 등을 중심으로 논의하였다. 준비 확인 과정에서는 학생들이 자료를 먼저 학습하고 이를 확인하는 준비 확인 시험을 개인과 팀 단위로 치른다. 즉석 피드백과 문서에 의한 이의 제기의 기회가 주어지고 설명이 추가될 수 있다. 중요한 문제, 명료한 선택, 같은 문제, 동시 보고 등 4-S 원리에 따라 적용 활동을 수행한 후에 동료 평가를 실시한다. 마지막으로 TBL 중심 문화수업에서 비평적 사고 능력의 향상을 위해 토론을 활성화하는 가이드라인을 제시하였다. 문화수업에서 TBL 방식을 적용하면 집단 활동을 통한 능동적 참여 경험과 학생들의 문제 해결 능력 향상을 기대할 수 있다. 따라서 한국 대학의 문화교육에서는 TBL의 실용적인 요소들을 활용하는 방향으로 수업을 설계하는 것이 바람직하다. 고등교육이 현대 사회에서 요구하는 문제해결 능력 개발의 기회를 제공하기 위해서는 배운 지식을 실생활 문제 해결에 적용하는 수업의 설계가 유용하다. 특히 대학의 문화수업은 학생들의 비평적 사고 능력과 협업 능력을 신장하는 방향으로 설계되어야 한다.

영문 초록

The current article aims at suggesting new direction of designing TBL based culture course for developing critical thinking and describing the effective way to discuss in order to facilitate critical thinking skill. To the end, theories and cases on TBL based culture courses in the foreign counturies were used. Firstly, this article dealt with characteristics of TBL such as definition, advantages, elements, and stages. TBL can be defined as a range of pedagogical strategies by which teams are constructed and applied knowledge through individual activities, team activities, and immediately feedback. Individual pre-study, readness test, team discussion are included in 3 stages of TBL. If TBL is used succefully in culture course, it could be expected to enhance active participation and problem solving capacity through team activities. Therefore, it is needed to design culture course in which practical activities of TBL are used. Furthermore, the article discussed of designing TBL based culture class using readness assuarance process, application activities, and peer assessment. In the readness assurance process students have to study the assigned reading material and take tests individually and then with their team members. Immediate feedback and appeal are follwed and explanation could be added. After the process students conduct application activities using 4-S principals in which significant problem, specific choice, same problem, and simultaneous report are included. Finally, it descreibed the way to facilitate thinking critically and activating discussion. Critical thinking is required to engage actively in team activities and culture class can offer students opportunities to practice critical thinking and cooperation. Discussion is important in the TBL based culture instruction and effective to developing critical thinking skills. With demostrating guidelines ways to facilitate discussion in TBL based culture courses were suggested.
