국문 초록

본 연구는 학생들과 함께 다양한 미술관을 방문하는 학교 교사에게 적합한 미술관 교육의 교수법으로써 질문을 기반으로 한 다양한 미술관 교육 전략을 검토하고자 한다. 대표적인 교수법인 하버드 프로젝트 제로의 Thinking Routines, 하우젠과 예나윈의 시각적 사고 전략(VTS), 그리고 콜럼버스 미술관의 ODIP을 비교 분석한다. 구체적으로, 질문을 기반으로 한 세 교수법의 공통점과 차이점, 장점과 한계점을 분석하였다. 본 연구는 기초 연구에 해당하며, 문헌, 웹 사이트, 동영상을 연구 데이터로 활용하였다. 세 교수법의 비교 분석을 통해 학교 교사가 미술관 교육을 진행할 때 범용 가능한 질문의 목록을 생성하였다. 이 목록은 교사들이 학생들을 대상으로 각 상황에 알맞게 미술관 교육을 쉽게 실천할 수 있도록 도움을 제공하는 데 그 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to examine question-based art museum education strategies appropriate for school teachers who visit art museums with their students. Thinking Routines from Harvard Project Zero, Housen and Yenawineʼs Visual Thinking Strategies (VTS), and Columbus Museum of Artʼs ODIP are compared and analyzed. Specifically, this study analyzes commonalities, differences, merits, and limitations of these three questioning strategies. Literature, webpage, and videos were used as research data. Three question-based art museum education strategies encourage student participation and diverse interpretations of a work of art. They consist of open-ended questions and are utilized a variety of works of art. They encourage studentsʼ detailed observation as well as supported interpretation. Teachers apply all three strategies across the school curriculum added to art museum education. However, their initiating questions are different. They also differ in terms of image selection and pointing. Above all, VTS encourages teachers to use questions accurately and paraphrase all student comments. Through the comparative analysis of three questioning methods, a list of universal questions was generated for school teachers who are willing to conduct art museum education. This list is created to assist school teachers to practice art museum education adapted to their own specific contexts.
