한국과 베트남 문화교류의 흐름에서 본 양국 전통음악 교류의 현황과 특성

국문 초록

조선시대에 중국을 통해 간접적으로 이루어졌던 한국과 베트남의 전통음악 교류는 20세기에 들어서 다양한 양상을 띠게 되었다. 1992년 한ㆍ베트남 수교가 이루어진 이래 양국간의 전통음악 교류가 빈번해졌다. 1990년대 말부터 시작된 베트남 내 한국문화와 한류의 특성, 그리고 문화교류를 위한 베트남한국 문화원의 노력은 전통음악 교류에 많은 영향을 미치고 있다. 한국에서 베트남어 학습, 베트남을 다루는 대중매체, 그리고 도서 발간의 증가 현상은 베트남에서의 한류와는 다르지만, 경제교류의 파트너로서 베트남, 그리고 다문화시대의 더 큰 우리로서의 베트남의 모습을 보여준다. 한국에서 베트남 전통음악 공연 역시 국제 축제가 늘어나면서 증가하게 되었다. 더욱이 2005년부터 추진되어 온 문화체육관광부의 문화동반자사엽은 많은 베트남 전문연주자들이 한국과 인연을 맺는 계기가 되었다. 또한 국내 정치와 경제 등 모든 면에서 아세안의 위치가 중요하게 부상하면서 2009년 문화체육관광부 아시아문화중심도시추진단에서 창단한 한-아세안 전통 오케스트라는 한국과 베트남 음악을 포함한 아시아의 음악적 정체성에 대한 새로운 문제를 던져주고 있는 상황이다. 한국과 베트남 전통음악 교류 양상을 보면, 드문 냐냑(Nha Nhac) 공연을 제외하고는 주로 민속음악을 위주로 공연되어 왔다. 게다가 양국의 전통음악은 2009년 한-베 우정페스티벌에서처럼 대중문화를 중심으로 한 한류의 힘을 입어서 공연되기도 하는 것처럼 보인다. 그러나 문화동반자사업 등 사업의 성과, 그리고 아악과 냐낙에 대한 양국의 관심을 고려할 때 앞으로 두 나라에서 소개되는 전통음악은 양국의 민속음악에서 아악(냐낙)에 이르기까지 점차 폭넓고 깊이 있게 나타날 것으로 생각된다. 또한 베트남인들이 가지는 한국의 경제적 성공과 베트남인의 전쟁 승리를 동일시하는 자부심과 동질감이라는 베트남 한류의 이연, 그리고 남녀노소의 구분 없는 베트남인의 한국문화에 대한 관심, 그리고 한국인들의 아시아적인 것에 대한 관심, 그리고 다문화시대에 대한 각성은 한국과 베트남 전통음악 공연의 다양화와 심화를 위해 긍정적으로 작용할 것으로 판단된다.

영문 초록

While exchange of traditional music between Korea and Vietnam was indirect during Joseon dynasty(1392-1910), it became not only direct but also very active and varied since 20th century, especially since the establishment of diplomatic ties between two countries in 1992. Korean wave which began in the late 1990s and the effort made by Korean cultural center in Hanoi influences on the exchange of traditional music between Korea and Vietnam. More people learn Vietnamese, more Vietnamese culture appear in Korean mass media and more books on Vietnam are published in Korea. This phenomenon is different from Korean wave in Vietnam. But, it clearly shows Vietnamese image to Korean people as a business partner and one ethnic group living with Korean in a multi ethnic age. Performance of Vietnamese traditional music was increased in Korea with the growing number of international festivals. The policy of Korean government to solve the problem of Korean wave such as ‘Cultural Partnership Initiative’ (CPI) project since 2005 gave a chance for many Vietnamese artists to associate with Korea. Meanwhile, the establishment of Korean-ASEAN traditional music orchestra which was born in 2009 along with the rising position of ASEAN in Korea the poses a new question about Asian musical identity. Until now more folk music was performed than court and aristocratic music except rare performance of Nha Nhac and Aak both in Korea and Vietnam shows for each others. Even one can say that the audience didn’t leave the traditional music performance place only when they were performed in the same stage as popular music. However, considering the fruit of CPI project and the interest in Nha Nhac and Aak of both countries, the exchange of traditional music between the two nations will be broadened from folk music into Nha Nhac and Aak, Also, Vietnamese view over economic success of Korea and the pride of Vietnamese people about victory in Vietnamese war which lie in the background of Korean wave in Vietnam, and Vietnamese interest in Korean culture regardless of their age and gender would help the exchange of music between Korea and Vietnam become more diverse including Nha Nhac and Aak, Also, Korean people’s concern over Asian culture and realization of multi ethnic age.
