초등학생의 발명 태도와 일반적 특성에 따른 발명 태도의 차이에 관한 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 초등학생의 발명에 대한 태도를 분석함으로써 발명에 대한 관심을 유도하고 발명 행동을 이끌 수 있는 수업설계를 위한 기초 자료를 제공하는 데 목적을 두고 있다. 이러한 연구 목적을 위하여 초등학생의 발명에 대한 태도, 일반적 특성에 따른 발명에 대한 태도의 차이, 발명에 대한 태도의 하위요인들 간의 상관관계를 분석하였다. 연구 대상은 충북에 소재 하는 초등학교 5학년과 6학년 313명이었고, 분석 방법은 기술통계, 독립표본 t-검정, 일원배치 분산분석, 상관관계 분석이었다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 초등학생의 발명에 대한 태도는 보통 정도였다. 하위요인별로 살펴보면, 인지적 태도와 정서적 태도의 수준은 보통 정도였으나 관심적 태도와 실천적 태도의 수준은 보통 미만이었다. 둘째, 초등학생의 발명에 대한 관심적 태도는 남학생이 여학생보다 높아 성별에 따른 차이가 나타났다. 셋째, 학년에 따라서는 관심적 태도와 정서적 태도에서 집단 간 차이를 보였다. 즉, 관심적 태도와 정서적 태도에서 6학년은 5학년보다 높은 수준을 보였다. 넷째, 학업성적은 초등학생의 발명에 대한 인지적 태도에 영향을 미치는 유의미한 변수였다. 다섯째, 발명에 대한 태도의 하위요인들(인지적 태도, 관심적 태도, 실천적 태도, 정서적 태도)은 상관계수 .46~.71 사이에서 유의미한 정적 상관관계를 보였다. 하위요인 중 관심적 태도와 실천적 태도는 높은 상관관계를 보였는데, 이는 학생들의 발명에 대한 관심을 자극하는 것이 발명에 대한 실행을 유도할 수 있음을 드러내는 결과이다. 따라서 발명에 대한 태도의 수준을 높이기 위해서는 발명에 대한 관심을 유도하고 발명 관련 경험을 할 수 있도록 노력해야 함을 알 수 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate elementary school students’invention attitudes. For the purpose, this study analyzed the degree of invention attitudes, the differences of invention attitudes according to gender, grade and achievement, and correlations among sub-factors of invention attitudes. The objects of study were 313 fifth and sixth grade students of 6 elementary schools in Chungbuk province. The results of this study were as follows. First, the level of cognitive and emotional attitudes to invention was middle level. But the level of attentional and practical attitudes was the lower than middle level. Second, gender was a significant variable affecting the attentional attitude to invention of elementary school students. Male students showed higher mean score than female students in the attentional attitude. Third, the sixth grade was highly regarded in terms of attentional attitude and emotional attitude to invention, rather than the fifth grade. Fourth, students with middle level records showed higher cognitive attitude to invention than those with lower grades. Fifth, the correlation among sub-factors (cognitive, attentional, practical, emotional attitude) of invention attitudes showed a significantly positive correlation.
