각급학교별 원예활동/치료의 효과에 대한 메타분석

국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 유치원~고등학생을 대상으로 이루어진 국내 석 박사학위논문에서 확인된 원예활동/치료 프로그램의 실험 효과를 메타분석 방법으로 확인하여 총 효과크기를 알아보려는 것이다. 이를 위해 ‘원예활동’, ‘원예치료’를 키워드로 RISS 검색과 PRISMA 선별 과정을 통해 142편(석사 135편, 박사 7편), 450개의 효과크기를 확보하였다. 그러나 이상치 분석 결과 35개의 효과크기가 배제되어 415개의 효과크기에 대해 CMA2 프로그램으로 메타 분석이 실시되었다. 본 연구에서 얻은 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 원예활동/치료 프로그램의 평균 효과크기는 .838(+29.9%; 교과학습영역), 1.029(+41.45%; 인지기능영역), .829(+29.64%; 인성(긍정)영 역), .581(+21.94%; 인성(부정)영역), .741(+27.09%; 정서지능)과 .955(+33.02%; 자아관련영역)으 로 나타나 비교적 높은 효과크기를 보여주었다. 따라서 원예활동/치료 프로그램은 유치원에 서 고등학생까지의 학생들에게 비교적 긍정적인 영향을 준다는 결론을 내릴 수 있다. 둘째, 조절변인에 대한 메타 ANOVA 결과 교과 학습과 인지기능 영역에서는 유치원생, 자아 관련 영역에서는 초등학생, 인성(부정)과 자아 관련의 두 영역에서 장애학생, 원예활동/치료 프로그램이 11회 이상 실시할 경우 각각 원예활동/치료 프로그램의 효과크기가 높은 것으로 나 타났다. 끝으로, 본 연구에서 확보된 결과를 선행연구와 관련하여 논의했으며, 본 연구의 제한점을 살펴보고 후속연구를 위한 제언을 하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to conduct a meta-analysis on the experimental results of horticultural activities/therapy programs reported in Master and Doctoral dissertations. After a systematic process of selecting literature, 142 theses, 450 research results with effect size were selected as basic data for meta-analysis. However, according to the results of scrutinizing for the outliers, 35 effect sizes were deleted. The results of meta-analysis were as follows. First, the mean of effect sizes of each area were .838 (+29.9% for the subject related area), 1.029 (+41.45% for cognitive skill area), .829 (+29.64% for positive personality area), .581 (+21.94% for negative personality area), .741 (+27.09% for emotional intelligence) and .955 (+33.02% for self-related area). So researchers concluded that the effect sizes of the horticultural activities/therapy programs could be interpreted as relatively big from kindergarten to high school students. Second, according to the results of meta ANOVA for the effects of moderator variables, the significant differences of effect sizes of horticultural activities/therapy programs were founded among school levels, between general and special education students, and among periods of programs. But these results were founded only in some sub-variables. Finally, researchers discussed the results related to the previous studies, and considered some limitations of this study and provided the suggestions for future studies.
