영유아교육 보육기관 통합평가지표의 물리적 환경 평가에 대한 분석: 미국과 호주의 평가 지표와 비교

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 우리나라의 유치원과 어린이집 통합평가지표의 개 카테고리 중 물리적인 환경 시설설비 환경 구성 의 평가에 대해서 살펴보았다 이를 통해 우리나라 영유아교육 보육기관의 물리적 환경의 평가가 효과적으로 이루어지고 있는지 살펴보고 지표의 적절성과 보완점을 파악하여 앞으로의 평가를 위한 제언을 하는데 연구의 목적이 있다 이를 위해 우리나라 유치원 어린이집 통합평가지표 미국의 지표 호주의 지표의 물리적 환경 평가 지표와 비교 분석하였다두 국가와의 비교 결과는 다음과 같다 첫째 통합평가지표의 경우 시설설비 항목 중 실내 외 시설설 치여부 발달 적합성에 관한 내용이 있었고 안전적합성과 장애유아시설에 대한 내용은 나타나지 않았다 둘째 환경 구성 항목 중 실내 외 공간구성 적합성 발달 적합성에 관한 내용이 있었고 장애유아에 대한 내용과 환경과의 연계에 대한 내용은 나타나지 않았다 연구의 결과를 통한 시사점은 첫째 우리나라의 경우에는 물리적 환경 항목에 실내 외 안전 적합성에 대한 내용이 추가될 필요가 있었으며 둘째 평가 지표 항목의 카테고리를 명확히 할 필요성이 있었다 셋째 환경과의 연계에 대한 내용이 추가될 필요가 있었으며 넷째 장애 유아를 위한 시설의 고려를 포함하는 내용이 추가될 필요가 있었다 다섯째 융통성있게 운영이 가능하도록 세부적 내용의 수정이 필요하였으며 전체의 조화로운 구성을 평가하는 항목이 추가될 필요가 있었다 끝으로 우리나라의 지표에 두드러진 발달을 고려한 내용은 지속적으로 유지될 필요가 있음을 시사하였다

영문 초록

This paper focuses on the evaluation criteria of physical environment(facility installation, environment composition) of the Korean accreditation system. In addition, in order to further develop the Korean accreditation system, this paper will compare and contrast the evaluation criteria of physical environment of Korean accreditation system and those of physical environment of the American and the Australian accreditation system. The results of the analysis and the comparisons with those of the two counties are as follows. First, in the Facility installation sub-scale, there was a report on the installation and developmental suitability, but there was no indication of safety adequacy and facilities for disability for children. Second, in the Environment composition sub-scale, there was a report on the composition suitability and developmental suitability, but there was no indication of harmony with environment and children with disabilities. Through the results of the study, first the more detailed criteria for indoor and outdoor safety need to be added to evaluate the physical environment. Second, definitions and key concepts of each evaluation category need to be clarified for the better understanding of the category. Third, in order for children to learn about environment protections and sustainable development, the physical environment need to reflect these concepts, and should be evaluated as well. Finally, the accreditation criteria need to evaluate how well the physical environment accommodates the needs of those with various disabilities. While evaluation criteria need have clear guidelines to ensure a high standard of “care” among all early childhood institutions, it should also be flexible enough to be properly implemented based on relevant context of each institution.
