현주 이소한의 한시 연구* - 가계문학 계승양상을 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구는 月沙 李廷龜의 아들인 玄洲 李昭漢의 시문학을 내용별로 나누어 가계문학의 계승이라는 측면에서 살펴보았다. 玄洲集에 수록된 시는 이정귀와 이명한에 비하여 분량이 많지 않으나 가계 문학의 영향을 그대로 담고 있다. 이정귀, 이명한, 이소한 三父子는 當代에 三蘇에 비견될 만큼 문학적 명성이 높았다. 그리고 三父子의 문학적 성취는 그대로 八相에게까지 이어졌으며 손자인 鳴巖 李海朝에 게서도 그 영향을 찾을 수 있다. 이정귀 가계의 문학은 천부적인 자질을 가지고 태어나 인위적인 설정과 조탁에 매달리지 않는 특성을 지니고 있다. 물론 후대의 문학이 이정귀와 이명한, 이소한을 능가할 만큼의 실력들을 갖추지는 못했던 듯하다. 그러나 그들은 지속적으로 그들만의 가풍을 면면히 이어나갔다. 當代의 文衡이었던 이정귀의 시를 모범으로 삼아 가족 간에 서로 시를 주고 받으며 자연스럽게 시풍을 학습하였다. 간혹 미세한 개별적인 차이는 있겠지만 유사한 경향이 두드러지게 나타나 가계 문학의 전승이라는 측면에서 주목할 만하다.이정귀 가계 문학의 중요한 특성은 천부적인 자질을 바탕으로 한 즉흥성이다. 그래서 즉흥적으로 지어진 口占이 많은 편이다. 때문에 지나친 수식이나 조탁을 통하여 작가의 진정성에서 멀어지는 폐단이 적었다. 또한 金昌協과 金昌翕이 추구한 眞詩와 일맥상통하는 점이 있다. 그러나 시적 대상이 흥의 종속물로 기능하여 비슷한 意境으로 표출된다는 지적을 받기도 하였다. 이는 이소한을 비롯한 이정귀 가계 문학의 대체적인 특징이자 한계이다. 가계문학의 영향을 받은 이소한의 시는 동일한 시어와 시적 구조를 차용하는 오마주적 재현이 많았 다. 산수를 애호하는 부친의 성향을 물려받은 데다 산수를 묘사함에 있어 흥이 중심이 되는 감성까지 덧붙여 여기에 이정귀의 경험을 재현하고자 하는 경향이 추가된다. 이소한이 지리산 천왕봉에서 피리를 불게 한 것도 바로 이 때문이다. 이와 같이 이소한의 시는 가계문학의 계승이라는 측면에서 접근할 때 그 진면모가 고스란히 드러난다. 본 연구는 가풍이나 가학을 중시하였던 當時의 전통을 고려하여 한 사람이 아닌 한 가계의 문학을 총체적으로 살펴보아야 한다는 점을 일깨워주는 사례이다.

영문 초록

This researcher examined poetic literature of Hyunjuj Lee So Han(玄 洲 李昭漢), a son of Wolsa Lee Jung Gui(月沙 李廷龜) by dividing into contents from an angle of succession of family literature. The quantity of poem of Hyunjujib is not much more than Lee Jung Gui(李廷龜) or Lee Myung Han(李明漢), but it includes effects of family literature as they are. Three fathers and sons, Lee Jung Gui(李廷龜), Lee Myung Han(李 明漢), Lee So Han(李昭漢), are very famous to such an extent as to be worthy to stand with Samso (三蘇) of Tang Dynasty(當代). And, literature achievement of three fathers and sons is continued to palsang (八相) and the effects are found in his grandson, Myungam Lee Hae Jo(鳴巖 李海朝). For the characteristics of the literature of Lee Jung Gui(李廷龜) family, they have God-given talents and are not bound by artificial setting or elaboration. Of course, literature of the next generation was not better than that of Lee Jung Gui, Lee Myung Han, and Lee So Han. However, they naturally studied style of poetry through family style giving and receiving poems among family members and poems of Lee Jung Gui who was Munhyung(文衡) of Ting Dynasty. So, they show similar tendency in spite of a few individual differences, so they are very significant from an angle of succesiion of family literature. An important characteristic of Lee Jung Gui family is improvisation based on God-given talents. So, there are lots of Gujum(口占) that is written extempore. Therefore, there are a few negative effects that they are far from writer’s sincerity gradually through flourish or elaboration. So, they have something in common with Jinsi(眞詩) pursued by Kim Chang Hyub and Kim Chang Heup. But, poetic object becomes dependency of pleasure, so shows similar artistic concept. It’s general characteristic and limitation of family literature of Lee So Han and Lee Jung Gui. Therefore, poem of Lee So Han influenced by family literature shows hommage reappearance borrowing same poetic words or poetic structure. The tendency preferring landscape was succeeded and fun is focused to describe landscape and Lee Jung Gui’s tendency to reappear experience is added. That’s why Lee So Han played the pipe on Chunwangbong of Jirisan Mountain. Therefore, poem of Lee So Han shows true characteristics when approaching from an angle of succession of family literature. This study reminds us to examine family literature in general, not a person, in consideration of the tradition of Ting Dynasty focusing on family style or family studies.
