대학 글쓰기 교재 분석과 개선 방안 연구

국문 초록

대학에서 글쓰기 교육에 대한 강화가 이루어지며 교과목 및 교재 명칭에서 필수적으로 ‘글쓰기’란 용어를 발견할 수 있다. 대학 글쓰기 교재는 각 대학의 교육 과정이자 목표, 교양교육의 지향 그 자체를 의미한다. 그래서 대학의 글쓰기 교재는 교수자와 수용자, 나아가 대학교육이란 세 영역을 매개하며 수단이자 방법으로 작용한다. 충남대학교는 개편된 글쓰기 강좌가 개설되어 약 4년의 시간 동안 시행됐다는 점에서 이에 대한 분석적 검토가 필요한 시기다. 또한, 이를 반성적으로 검토하여 이후의 개발 방향에 대한 제언 또한 가능하기에 이와 같은 연구는 의미를 지닌다. 여기에서 그 대상이 되는 것은 충남대학교 글쓰기 교재인 기초글쓰기 – 사고와 표현이며 그와 함께 이에 대한 발전적 논의가 오간 교강사 워크숍이다. 대학 글쓰기 교재는 대학 구성원인 학생이 자신의 지적 체계를 표현하고, 이를 이해하는 학술적 담화 공동체로의 진입을 본질적 목적으로 한다. 더불어 수용자가 요구하는 글쓰기 또한 배울 수 있도록 하는 것이 대학 글쓰기 교재의 역할이다. 본고는 충남대학교 글쓰기 교재의 체계를 검토하고, 수정을 필요로 하는 사항을 중심으로 하여 이를 분석적으로 살핀다. 더불어 본고는 매 학기 진행된 교강사 워크숍에서 논의된 사항을 살핀다. 그리고 이를 통해 글쓰기 교재 개선에서 고려해야 하는 사항들을 파악한다. 이와 같은 일련의 과정을 통해 충남대학교 글쓰기 교재에서 나타나는 문제적 지점을 중심으로 하여 이를 실질적으로 해결할 수 있는 방안을 고려한다.

영문 초록

As the writing education in the university has strengthened, you may find the term writing easily in the title of the course and the textbook. The textbook of university writing is a curriculum of each university, a goal, and the orientation of liberal arts education itself. Thus, the writing textbook of the university is the means and the method itself, mediating the three areas, teachers and learners, as well as university education. Chungnam National University opened a modified writing course for about 4 years, which is the timeframe when an analytical review is necessary. In addition, this research is meaningful because it is possible to review this in a reflective way and suggest a future development direction. The subject of this study is「Basic Writing - Thinking and Expression」, the writing textbook of Chungnam National University, and an instructor workshop where a progressive debate was discussed. The essential purpose of the textbooks is to allow students, the members of university, to express their intellectual systems and become an academic communicative community that understands this. In addition, another role of textbooks is to enable students to learn the writing required by learners. This paper reviews the overall system of writing textbooks at Chungnam National University and analyzes them in detail, focusing on issues that need revision. This goal of study is to identify the issues discussed in the instructor workshop held every semester. Based on this, the matters to consider to improve writing textbooks are examined. Through this process, methods to improve them practically, focusing on the problematic issues in the writing textbooks of Chungnam National University, will be suggested.
