학교문법의 학습방법에 대한 일 제언

국문 초록

본고는 탐구학습이 학교문법의 수업 방식으로 적당하지 않다는 점을 탐구학습에 대한 비판적인 관점에서 입증하고자 하였다. 그리고 그 대안으로써 설명식 수업 방 식을 응용한, 3단계의 수업 방식을 제언하였다. 자료를 분석하고 정리하는 과정을 1단계를 설정하고, 국어 지식에 대해 설명하는 과정을 2단계로, 이 과정에서 내면화한 지식을 국어활동에 적용하여 사용하는 과정 을 3단계로 설정하였다. 그리고 이런 과정들이 단선적이 아니고 반복ㆍ순환적이라 는 데에 의의를 두었다. 즉 각 단계의 학습이 ‘반복적’으로 이루어지는데, 이런 반복 은 결국 중심 단계인 ‘국어지식에 대한 이해(2단계)’로 ‘회귀’한다는 것이다. 그리고 학습자는 이런 수업 단계를 거치면서 실제 자료를 직접 분석하여 정리하는 탐구력 을 신장할 수 있으며, 획득한 국어 지식을 국어 활동 영역과 통합하는 능력을 길러 서 창의적인 국어 생활을 하게 된다는 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this paper is to prove that inquiry learning is not appropriate as teaching method for school grammar based on a critical perspective concerning the inquiry learning. As one possible alternative, this study presents three-stage teaching method that descriptive teaching method is applied. The process in which materials are analyzed and organized is designated as the first stage. The second stage is related with explanations regarding knowledge of Korean language, and the third state is the procedure in which learners can use and apply their internalized knowledge for their language activities. The significance of these stages is that they are not linear but repetitive and circular. That is, learning of each stage is ‘repetitive’, and this repetition ‘returns’ to the focal stage, ‘understanding of Korean language knowledge.’ Learners, therefore, can enhance inquiry skills for analyzing and organizing actual materials by themselves through these three class stages. In addition, learners are equipped with competence which allows them to integrate their acquired knowledge with language activity fields, therefore allows them more creative Korean language use in daily life.
