초등 고학년 아동의 자아존중감이 학교생활적응에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구는 아동의 자아존중감이 학교생활적응에 미치는 영향과 이 관계에서 또래 애착의 매개효과 검증을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위해 ‘한국청소년정책연구원’의 ‘한 국 아동․청소년패널조사 2010(KCYPS)’의 자료 중 초등학교 5학년 아동 2,110명의 자료를 사용하였다. 기술분석과 상관분석으로 응답자 및 주요 변수들의 특성을 파악하였으며, 다중회귀분석과 sobel test를 통해 연구모형 및 또래애착의 매개효과를 검증하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같았다. 첫째, 자아존중감, 삶의 만족도, 또래애 착은 학교생활적응에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 또래애착은 아동의 자아존중감과 학교생활적응의 관계를 부분 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 이에 따라 초등학생의 학교생활적응을 향상시키기 위해 자아존중감과 또래애착 증진을 위한 프로그램을 개발하고 실시하는 것이 필요함을 밝혀내었다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of children’s self-esteem on school life adaptation, and the mediating effect of peer attachment between children’s self-esteem and school life adaptation. The study is based on data from the 5th year of ‘Korean Children Youth Panel Survey 2010(KCYPS)’ of ‘The National Youth Policy Institute’ were 2,110 5th grade elementary school students. Descriptive analysis and correlations analysis were used to investigate variables and the characteristics of the respondents. Multiple regression analysis and the Sobel test were utilized for creating the research model and measuring the mediating effects of peer attachment. The results were as follows. First, self-esteem of children, the satisfaction of life, the peer attachment had an impact on their school life adaptation. Secondly, the peer attachment partially mediated the relationship between children’s self-esteem and school life adaptation. In order to improve the school life adaptation of these age groups, it was suggested to implement intervention-programs designed to enhance the self-esteem and the peer attachment. Based on these findings, implications for future study were also discussed in this study.
