교사와 유아들의 대화에서 나타나는 만남에 대한 의미 탐구

국문 초록

본 연구는 ‘대화적 관계’를 강조한 Buber의 만남철학을 교육실제에 원용함으로 유아교실에서 나타나는 교사와 유아들의 만남의 의미를 보다 풍요롭고 심화시켜 이해해 보고자 하였다. 본 연구를 수행하기 위해 D유치원의 만 5세반을 대상으로 총 17주에 걸쳐 20회기의 관찰과 5회기의 교사 면담을 통해 자료수집이 이루어졌다. 자료수집은 비참여관찰 빛 비디오 촬영과 음성 녹음으로 이루어졌으며 수집된 자료는 질적 분석의 귀납적 방법으로 범주화하여 최종적인 글쓰기를 하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 교사와 유아는 일상적인 만남들 속에서 대화적 관계를 세우고 있었다. 교사는 등원하는 유아들을 관조하며 외적·내적 상태를 돌보며 유아와 관계를 맺고 있었다. 둘째, 수단적인 만남으로 인해 서로 공간에 존재하지 못하면서 텅 빈 공간을 만들때도 있었다. 이러한 만남은 ‘교수-실행적-존재’인 교사와 ‘자기-실현적-존재’인 유아가 부딪히기 때문이었다. 셋째, 교사와 유아는 관계의 상호성 속에서 서로를 바라 보고, 서로의 존재에 주의를 기울이며 깊어지는 만남을 가질 때도 많았다. 이처럼 교사와 유아는 교실 공간의 거주자로서 살아가며 세계-내-존재자가 되기 위해 다채로운 만남을 가지고 있었는데 교사가 유아를 진정으로 볼 때 인간 실존을 이야기 했 던 Buber의 진정한 만남을 교실에서 실현할 수 있게 될 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to understand the meanings of meeting between teacher and children in early childhood classroom by applying Buber s philosophy of meeting that emphasized dialogue relationship to the practice of education. This study was conducted from July 17, 2013 to October 11, 2013 for 17 weeks, that contains data collection through 20 classroom observations and 5 teacher interviews. Data collection was performed by non-participant observation, video recording and voice recording, and the collected data were categorized by an inductive method that is one of qualitative analysis. The findings of the study were as follows: First, teacher and children built a relationship in daily interactions. Teacher established a relationship with children by observing children that attend kindergarten and caring their internal and external condition. Second, because of the encounter of instrumental, they make classroom vacant space not existing in the space. This encounter leads to conflict between teacher of ‘teaching-practical-existence’ and children of ‘self-actualizing-existence’ Finally, teacher and children had deep encounter by paying attention to each other’s existence in classroom space. They shared each other’s heart with story of life in mutual relationship, It should be concluded, from what has been said above, by watching children sincerely, Buber’s encounter that human existence was mentioned will be realized in classroom.
