일본어 문말 인토네이션에 나타난 감정표현에 관한 연구 및 습득

국문 초록

イントネーションの誤りは、コミュニケーションにおける発音の誤りとは違う誤解を招く可能性がある。母音ㆍ子音ㆍ拍の長さㆍアクセントの位置などの誤りは、一般的に日本人に「この人は、外国人であるため、まだ日本語の発音が苦手」だと受け入れられる。それとは対照的にイントネーションの誤りは、非母語話者の発音の問題ではなく、その人がそのような意図で発音したと誤解して解釈される場合が多くある。このような場合、発話者は全くそのような意図にもかかわらず、日本人から「態度が悪い」ㆍ「言葉が乱暴だ」などと誤解される。本稿では、釜山地域の日本語学習者を中心に感情表現による日本語の文末イントネーションの特徴について調べてみることにした。また、その結果をもとに文末イントネーションの習得について提案したい。感情表現を含むイントネーションの研究では、今後、日本語学習だけでなく、日本人との円滑な交流にもかなり役立つであろうと考えている。さらに、日本語のイントネーションの習得を通して、日本人の言語習慣や特徴を知ることができるため、本研究は、日本語学習者にとって重要であると考えている。

영문 초록

The mistakes of intonation may cause misunderstandings different from pronunciation errors in communication. Errors concerning vowels, consonants, beat length, and accent positions are generally accepted as “This person is not good at pronunciation of Japanese because he/she is a foreigner.” In contrast, the mistakes of intonation are not merely problems of pronunciation for non-native speakers, but it often engenders the impression that the person uttered with such intentions. In such cases, the speakers are misunderstood by the Japanese people as “His/her attitude is bad,” “Words are violent,” and so on, despite lack of such intentions. In this paper, I investigate the characteristics of Japanese end-of-sentence intonation associated with sentences involving emotional expressions mainly for Busan learners of Japanese. Furthermore, I would like to make a proposal as to the learning of sentence intonations based on our research result. In the study of intonation including emotional expressions, I contend that it will be useful not only for learning Japanese but also for smoothing an exchange with Japanese people. In addition, we can understand Japanese language habits and characteristics through the mastery of Japanese intonation, and we thus believe that this research is important for learners of Japanese.
