영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to find some lessons from the experience of the technopolis in Japan for Korean techno-park policies. For this, we have discussed the results and problems of Japanese technopolis policies. We have also discussed the possibility of application of Japanese technopolis policies to Korea. From this study following result has been found: Two principle characteristics of the technopolis policies of Japan have been found. The one is that they use the technopolis policies as a means of regional development strategies. The other is that they have strong cooperation among industry, university, local governments, and clear division of roles among participating institutes. Some lessons from the experience of the technopolis in Japan for desirable policy directions for the successful organization and operation of Korean techno-park policies has been found. First, we have to develop cooperative relationship between frontier and local industry, and to develop green techno-park. Second, for more effective and stronger implementation of the project, local governments or university need to be major operating subjects. Third, new long term systems for estimating the pervasive effect on regional economy is also needed. Finally, strategic specialization of industrial category and function is required. techno-park should be developed as specialized one that will intensively develop major advanced industries competitively in each region.
