영문 초록

The government policy including cultural policy must be formulated based on the scientific investigation of related data. The cultural index is the fundamental data to be used for formulating the cultural policy and evaluating the effectiveness of the policy. Also, the cultural index can be used to understand the cultural change process. We design and investigate the cultural indices for the time and expenditures devoted to the cultural activities using the existing data, which other studies did not investigate. We investige the time on each cultural activity using daily average partipation rate, per participant average time, per capita average time. The ativities include watching television, listening to radio, reading newspapers and reading books and magazines. Also, we investigate cultural expenditures using per capita average and the average ratio of the cultural expenditures to the total consumption expenditures by socioeconomic characteristics.
