영문 초록

Comparing with other regions, Taejon and Chungnam province has relatively weak industrial foundation and does not have proper circumstances for the development of small and medium sized companies. Furthermore, the geographical distribution of industrial complexes is concentrated in certain areas. Under these situations, the introduction of localization would impose burden on Taejon and Chungnam province, since globalization and localization request strengthened international competitiveness as well as economic independence. This study, therefore, analyzes the relationship between small and medium sized companies and local economy, and between localization and the growth of small and medium enterprises respectively. Our analysis suggests how the local industry can be activated and fostered along with the internal and external variables.
