국문 초록

본 연구에서는 최근 수출입대금결제방식의 현황을 지역별로 구분하여 변화요인을 분석하고, 이에 따른 위험관리 방안을 제시하여 수출입기업들이 합리적인 대금결제방식을 선택할 수 있도록 기여하는데 연구의 목적을 두고자 하였다. 최근 10년간 수출입 모두 결제방식의 변화 추이는 송금결제의 비중이 가장 높으며, 신용장과 추심의 순으로 결제 비중이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 또한 국가별, 지역별, 경제의 발전단계에 따라 결제방식의 추이와 사용 비중에 차이가 존재하는 것으로 분석되었다. 하지만 각 결제방식마다 사용 환경 및 동기, 장단점 등이 명확하게 구분되는 바, 수출입 양 당사자는 자사의 교역 환경에 적합한 결제 방식을 취해야 할 필요가 있다. 무엇보다 결제방식의 차이에서 오는 리스크를 관리하는 가장 확실한 대응방안은 철저한 거래당사자의 신용조사이지만 지역별로 거래상대국 및 기업의 결제리스크를 분석하고 수출보험을 활용하는 방법이 필요할 것이다.

영문 초록

Purpose : This paper, analyzing the recent trends of trade settlement by regional groups and causes for change, is to suggest proper strategic guidelines for export enterprises in deciding an appropriate trade settlement for their business. Research design, data, methodology : The research method of the present paper took both literature research and empirical study. Regarding empirical part of this paper, it examined the variation and regional trends in trade settlement, using the statistical data provided by KITA(Korea International Trade Association). Results : This paper found that most frequently used in export settlement scheme in the last 10 years which show high share in descending order are transfer payments, letters of credit and collection. It also found that traders in different regions show different trends in taking payment methods, depending on the development stage of the economy which regions are in. Conclusions : This paper suggests that, as each payment methods has its advantages and disadvantages and calls for reasonable environment to be well operated, it is necessary for international traders to take the most suitable payment method for their transactions, by carefully considering all these mentioned characteristics of payment methods and trading environment in each transaction.
