국문 초록

본 연구는 '생각의 탄생'에 소개된 생각의 도구 개념을 적용하여 창의적 사고와 표현에 중점을 둔 추상표현 지도를 교육현장에서 어떻게 적용할 것인가에 대한 방법을 모색하고, 이를 초등학교 5학년 학생들에게 적용한 후, 학생들의 창의적 사고능력 및 자아개념의 향상 효과를 파악하는데 있다. 본 연구에서는 사물을 보는 객관적인 시각이 발달하는 시기인 초등학교 5학년 학생들을 대상으로, 생각의 도구 개념에 기초하여 느낌이나 생각을 자유롭게 표현하는 추상표현 학습을 통해 창의적 사고능력을 배양할 수 있도록 하였으며, 자유로운 추상표현활동 속에서 자신의 의미를 발견하고 자신의 내면을 새롭게 보게 됨으로서 자신의 내적세계를 인식하여 확고한 자아개념을 창조하도록 돕고자 하였다. 생각도구는 관찰-변형-상상-유추-패턴 간의 유기적 관계를 통해 통합된다. 그에 따라 본 연구의 5차시 수업은 생각의 도구를 통한 추상표현의 원리를 적절히 응용하여 자신의 느낌과 내면을 창의적으로 표현하고, 주제와 재료의 특성을 살려 의도한대로 효과적인 표현을 할 수 있도록 하였다. 이에 먼저 초등 미술교육과정과 생각의 도구, 추상미술에 관한 문헌 및 선행연구 검토를 실시하였으며, 수업의 제재로서 연구대상의 수준을 고려하여 학습요소를 추출하고 추상표현 수업지도안을 구성하였다. 그리고 수업효과에 관한 실증으로써, 수업 프로그램을 학생들에게 적용한 후 그 효과를 정량적으로 검증하기 위하여 학생들의 창의적 사고능력과 자아개념의 변화를 수업적용 사전ㆍ사후로 나누어 비교ㆍ측정하였다. 결국, 생각의 도구 추상표현지도 프로그램은 초등학생의 창의적 사고능력과 자아개념 발달에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 볼 수 있다. 또한 생각의 도구에서 제공하는 창의적 사고의 틀과 추상미술표현 교육에 대한 확대 적용이 요구되며, 본 연구는 이러한 교육적 문제해결의 가능성을 탐색해보는 과정으로서 그 의의가 있다고 하겠다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to search for measures to apply abstract expression instruction method in the education field by using the concept of thinking tools introduced in 'Sparks of Genius' and to measure its effect on improvement in creative thinking ability and self-conception after actual application to elementary school 5th graders. The subjects of this study are elementary school 5th graders which is the period that objective perspective on objects is being developed. It was intended to improve their creative thinking ability by abstract expression learning method that lets the students freely express their feelings and minds based on the concept of thinking tools. During abstract expression activities, the students are expected to find their identity and have a new perspective on their inner side to create a firm self-conception by recognizing their inner world. Thinking tools are integrated by organic relations between observation-transformation-imagination-conjecturepattern. Therefore, the 5th instruction conducted for this study is composed of helping the students creatively express their feelings and inner side by properly applying the principles of abstract expression through thinking tools and teach them use effective expressions corresponding to their intentions by making use of given topics and subjects. First of all, a review was conducted on documents and preceeding researches regarding elementary school art curriculum, thinking tools and abstract art. Next, learning factors and extracted and teaching guide on abstract expression was composed by considering the level of study subjects. In addition, in order to prove the effect of instruction, class programs were applied and quantitative effect analysis was conducted by classifying the changes of students' creative thinking ability and self-conception into before and after the class. The study result by participation of 59 elementary school 5th graders to abstract expression instruction program using thinking tools is as follows. First, as a result of measuring improvement on creative thinking ability, the participating students demonstrated significant improvement on their overall creative thinking ability, flexibility, sophistication, and integration after the class. Second, as a result of measuring improvement on self-conception, the participating students demonstrated significant improvement on their overall self-conception, self-respect and interpersonal relation skills after the class. After all, it is identified that abstract expression instruction using thinking tools has positive impact on developing creative thinking ability and self-conception of elementary school students. Also, expanded application of creative thinking framework provided in thinking tools on abstract artistic expression education and the significance of this study is in the process of searching for its possibility of educational problem solving.
