비판적 사고와 미술 비평 교육

국문 초록

현대 맥락주의 예술 존재론에서 미술 담론은 작품의 내적 요소이다. 미술 창작, 기획, 감상에서 글쓰기는 작품 정체성을 확인하고 평가하는 서사이다. 그러나 한국 미술계에 발표되는 수많은 글들은 '평가와 추동'이라는 본연의 역할을 제대로 수행하고 있지 못하다. 한국 미술계의 글쓰기 관행을 개선하는 일은 대학의 기초 교과목인 의사소통 교육과 심화 교과목인 전공 글쓰기 교육에서 시작할 수 있다. 대학은 학부의 기초교양 필수 교과목인 의사소통 교육을 강화하고, 더불어 예술대학과 대학원은 비판적 사고, 실천적 추리, 논증적 글쓰기 교과목을 통해 창작, 기획, 비평, 이론의 역량을 강화해 나가야 한다. 본고는 그 사례로 한국예술종합학교 미술원에서 개설된 비판적 사고와 비평 수업을 제시한다. 수업 모형과 수강생 예문을 통해 미술계 담론의 현 상황을 진단하고, 글쓰기 교육 강화를 통해 비평의 책무를 재점검하고 대중의 심미적 권리확장을 모색한다.

영문 초록

In the contextualist ontologies, artistic discourse is an internal factor of contemporary art. Because it is a narrative of artistic identification and evaluation. The critics and many practitioners in Korean art world write about current arts constantly, but they have nearly taken the leading part in the field. In order to improve our writing convention in art world, it should begin with the intensifying the education of communication in basic design class of liberal art and the advanced class of the field of major. The subjects of the critical thinking, the practical reasoning and the argumentative writing offer for the students in college of fine arts. In this essay, I suggest the model of class of criticism and metacriticism on the basis of the teaching experience in the master's course in the Korea National University of Arts. I expect my educational vision to remind the critics of their responsibilities and give multitude the opportunities to enjoy their aesthetic rights.
