국문 초록

본고에서는 의존형태에서 자립 형태로 변화하는 국어의 탈문법화 현상에 대한 논의를 시도하였다. 따라서 범주의 비경계성, 문법화, 탈문법화에 관한 그간의 논의를 검토하였으며, 이를 토대로 4장에서는 국어 의존명사의 탈문법화에 대해 '척, 나름, 때문에'를 중심으로 기술하였다. 탈문법화 현상에 관한 논의는 언어 전이가 단일 방향적으로 이루어진다는 기존 견해에 관한 반례를 제시한다. 이러한 예들은 문법의미가 강한 지점에서 약한 지점으로, 어휘의미가 약한 지점에서 강한 지점으로 일관되게 변화한다. 따라서 문법화의 반대 현상도 일련의 체계 속에서 일어날 가능성을 보여준다. 또 특정 어휘의 탈문법화 진행 여부나 발달 정도에 따라 범주 전이의 가능성을 예측할 수 있다. 본고에서는 의존명사의 탈문법화 유형을 두 가지로 분류하여 논의하였으며, '척, 나름, 때문'이 탈문법화가 진행되고 있음을 밝히고 자립성과 어휘의미 획득 정도에 따라 탈문법화의 발달 정도가 다름을 보여 주었다. 국어의 탈문법화 현상으로 밝혀진 예가 드물어서 탈문법화 현상을 일시적인 언어 범주 전이 현상이나 문법화의 예외 현상으로 간주할 수도 있다. 하지만 탈문법화 현상이 다른 언어에서는 체계적인 언어 전이 현상으로 연구되고 있다는 점에서 국어 어휘를 대상으로 한 탈문법화에 관한 체계적인 분석도 보다 심도 있게 진행되어야 한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this paper is to clarify degrammatical phenomenon of Korean bounded morphemes. This is about language change and comparison between grammaticalization and degrammaticalization. First, the traditional (historical) theory of the grammaticalization and the degrammaticalization are introduced. Grammaticalization is a process of seperation resulting in an increase in autonomy. Grammaticalization is based on the premise of unindirectionality, whereas degramaticalization hypothesis is regarded as counter directional tendencies. A morpheme that is the result of degrammaticalization gains "more lexical meaning" and gets "less bounded." In this paper, three Korean bound nouns are analyzed, which are '척', '나름', and '때문'. Recently, '척' show a tendency to change from bound noun to free noun and '나름' changes from bound noun to adverb. The degrammaricalization of '나름' is divided into two stages, the first is from bounded noun to adverb with postposition '-대로'. The second is without postposition. In quite recent '때문에' is undergoing degrammaticalization process, so it could be said "on the beginning moment of degrammaticalization." The results of studies on degrammaticalization in Korean are less than on the grammaticalization, which is due to lack of degrammatical phenomenon and short history of Korean letters in document. But considering that degrammarticalization has already been accepted as a general theory in language change, we also need an in-depth study of degrammarticalization in Korean language.
