초등교육과정에서의 시 교육 고찰

국문 초록

문학교육이란 문학에 대한 지식, 이해와 표현 기능, 태도로 구성되는 문학능력(Literary competence)을 키우고 그것을 향상 시키는 것을 목표로 한다. 문학능력의 함양을 통해 개인적으로는 인격의 성장에 이르고, 사회적으로는 문화의 계승과 창달에 이르는 것이다. 따라서 체계적인 문학교육을 처음 접하게 되는 초등교육과정에서의 문학교육은 매우 중요하다. 아이들은 교과서를 통해 처음으로 문학작품을 접하게 되며 문학의 핵심에 있는 시를 인식하게 된다. 초등교육과정에서 시를 가르치는 까닭은 언어 능력을 길러 주고 문학작품에 대한 안목을 기르도록 함으로써 스스로 가치 있는 삶을 가꾸기 위한 것이다. 이를 위해 초등학교에서의 시 교육은 학습자들에게 정서적 안정을 위해서 좋은 시를 읽고 이해하고 감상하며 써보는 일련의 학습과정이 필요하다. 본 연구는 문학 및 시의 본연의 기능과 시 교육이 지향해야 할 기본방향에 비추어 초등학교 교육과정의 시 교육이 어떤 양상을 띠고 있는지 그 구성 체계와 학습목표, 내용 등을 학년별로 살펴보고 그에 따른 과제와 개선방향을 모색하였다.

영문 초록

Literature education has the goal to raise and develop the literary competence that is comprised of literary knowledge, understanding and expressive function, and attitude. Building up the literary competence individually leads to grow one's personality, and socially to inherit and promote culture. Therefore the literary education of elementary education process to learn a systematic literary education for the first time, is very important. Children first start approaching to literary works through textbooks and recognize poetry as the core of literature. The purpose of teaching poetry during the Elementary Education Process is to cultivate some valuable life for oneself by developing language ability and to educating the sense of choosing literary perspective. In order to do this, poetry education in elementary school needs a series of learning process such as reading, understanding, appreciating, and writing good poetries for the students' emotional stability. This study is to consider the system of organization, learning objectives and contents by each grade to know what aspect the poetry education in the elementary education process has, according to the basic direction that the original function of literature and poetry as well as poetry should aim at, and try to find out it's task and improvement direction.
