국문 초록

이 글의 목적은 『박소촌화』 소재 과거담의 특징과 의미를 밝히는 것이다. 이동윤은 과거시험을 치른 직접 경험에서부터 집안의 친인척, 노론 학맥의 문인들, 문헌 및 구전 등으로 수용한 것에 이르기까지 과거에 관한 다채로운 이야기를 다양한 전승경로를 통해 『박소촌화』에 수록하였다. 『박소촌화』에는 과거시험의 출제과목, 시험방법, 시험제도의 변경에 관한 내용을 비롯하여 회방연과 생진계, 풍수, 과거 공부에 관련된 갖가지 사회풍습이 소개되어 있다. 이를 통해 18세기 과거문화를 이해하는데 있어 『박소촌화』는 유용한 자료가 될 수 있다. 과거담 일화는 역사적으로 널리 알려지지 않은 인물을 주인공으로 삼아 그 존재의의를 부각시켰다. 일부 일화는 야담의 면모를 갖추고 있어, 일화에서 야담으로의 변모를 파악하는데 유용한 도움이 된다. 이동윤은 과문절도, 매문, 대리답안작성, 정실관계로 부정합격을 기획하는 행위 등을 비롯하여 수많은 과거부정과 폐단의 사례를 제시하였다. 과거부정을 방지하기 위한 방법은 마련하지 못했지만 과거부정에 얽힌 다양한 사례를 남김으로써 후세의 경계를 삼은 점은 높이 평가할 만하다. 이동윤이 남긴 과거담은 이전의 문헌 설화에서는 쉽게 찾아보기 어려운 독특한 것이라는 점에서 의미가 있다. 동시대 윤기가 남긴 과거 관련 글과 비교할 때 내용의 깊이나 짜임새는 부족하지만 다양성과 서사적 이야기를 갖추었다는 점이 특징이다. 『박소촌화』 소재 과거담은 조선조 선비들의 과거에 대한 미시생활사를 엿볼 수 있다는 점에서 의미가 있다고 할 것이다.

영문 초록

This thesis is to aim at identifying the characteristics and meanings of the state examination stories in 『ParkSoChoneWha』. Lee DongYoon wrote many stories in 『ParkSoChoneWha』, including the experience of the state examination, the literary men in the same member, and documentary records, and transmission by mouth. There were the test subjects of the state examination, the method of examination, and the changes of examination system in 『ParkSoChoneWha』. Also, it introduced a variety of social customs that had something to do with HoeBangYeon, assembly meeting, SangJinGae, geomancy, and the state examination. These stories eventually helped us understand social culture about the state examination in that age. The leading characters in the story had good manners and abilities, but they were not historically famous people. It contributed to emerging the existence meaning. Also, Lee DongYoon illustrated a number of examination absurdity and the vice cases, which were stealing, drawing up the answering sheet by other people, and passing the examination dishonestly. Since these stories taught a good lesson to the following generation, this writing seemed to be highly evaluated. The state examination stories written by Lee DongYoon had very peculiar characters that couldn't be found in the earlier books. Compared to the stories by Yoon Gee, these stories included the diversity and epic stories. The state examination in 『ParkSoChone Wha』 had particularly good points in terms of revealing a way of life by the elite groups in Chosun Dynasty era.
