정철 〈將進酒辭〉와 박인로 〈勸酒歌〉 대비 고찰

국문 초록

본 논문은 정철 〈장진주사〉와 박인로 〈권주가〉를 비교 고찰하는 데 목적을 두었다. 이 두 작품을 제대로 구명한다면 우리 문학에서 하나의 독자적 권주 노래 전통을 찾아낼 수 있는 가능성이 확보될 것이 필자의 생각이다. 왜냐하면 두 작품이 중국의 장진주 전통을 이은 한시 악부 장진주와 후대의 12가사류 우리말 권주가 사이의 연결고리로 작용할 수 있기 때문이다. 정철의 작품이 한시 악부와 동일한 제목을 사용하고 박인로의 것은 12가사류와 명칭을 같음에서 이러한 정황을 알수 있다. 그러므로 본고에서는 이 둘을 비교하고자 하였다. 내용적으로 양자는 비애의 정감이라는 장진주의 보편적 정서를 기저에 갖는다. 이 중 정철의 〈장진주사〉는 단순한 용사가 아닌 우리의 말로 만든 장진주의 보편성이라는 데에 의의가 있다. 이에 비하여 박인로의 〈권주가〉는 작품의 대부분을 용사로 차용하였지만 그 번역의 중간에 자신의 개별적 정서를 가미하였다는 데에 의미가 있다. 형식적으로는 우선 길이와 구조를 살펴보았다. 〈장진주사〉는 3행의 짧고도 집약적인 가곡창을 새롭게 창출한 데서 구조적 특징을 찾을 수 있다. 그에 비해 〈권주가〉는 연회 참석자들의 기호에 맞게 다양한 용사를 수용하였기 때문에 길어지게 되었다. 표현에서는 전자가 점층과 대구를 통하여 의미를 고양해내는 데 비해 후자는 용사와 문답을 주된 수사법으로 사용하여 작품을 진행하였다.

영문 초록

This paper’s purpose is to comparatively study Jeong Cheol’s Jangjinjusa and Park Inro’s Gwonjuga. The reason is because it is possible to secure one of our own wine offering song traditions from Korean Literature if these two works are correctly identified, for these two works can act as a link between Chinese poetry Akbu’s (Music Bureau) Jangjinjiu followed the Jangjinju tradition in China and Korean Wine Offering Songs of the later 12 Gasa style. We can understand this condition from that Jeong Cheol’s work title is the same as that of Chinese poetry Akbu and Park Inro’s work title is the same as that in 12 Gasa style. Accordingly, I’d like to compare both in this paper. Both contents are based on Jangjinju’s universal emotions of sorrow and sentiment. It is meaningful that Jeong Cheol’s Jangjinjusa is not of simple Yongsa (Shi Quotation) but of Jangjinju universality written in Korean. In contrast, Park Inro’s Gwonjuga borrows most of its verses with Shi Quotations, but it is meaningful that he added his own feelings in the midst of its translation. For their forms, I studied their lengths and structures first. Jangjinjusa is structurally characterized in new creation of an intensive prose song in short 3 lines. In contrast, Gwonjuga, became lengthy for it accommodated various Yongsas to meet tastes of banquet attendees. For their expressions, while the former enhanced meaning by climaxes and rhyming couplets, the latter advanced the work using Yongsas and interrogations as major rhetoric.
