영문 초록

It was insufficient to study the identification of Pohang area because we have looked into Pohang Changjin not from a local standpoint but from a central standpoint. To consider this point of view, it has been studied about name, establishment, the year of abolition, the location of warehouse & property of Pohang Changjin. Pohang Changjin was instituted in the 7th year of King Yeongjo(1731) in order to give relief to starved people in Hamkyung-Buk-do. It was originally not a military organ but it borrowed the method of military management to fit in with the purpose of Pohang Granary foundation. In addtion, Jinjang(or Beoljang), who was in military service for a long time, had been appointed, so that it seemed to be named Pohang Changjin in the history of a town. The location of Pohang Changjin was assumed to be a spot inside radius of 180° from the ‘Pohang Station’ to ‘Pohang Cinema’. This is the area of Daeheong-dong today and was based on fact of ‘Kin Jeongjo Authentic Record’ and ‘Pohang Chang Record’ by Hyeon-Myeong Jo. The establishment of Pohang Changjin was set up by the epoch-making idea of ‘Relief Law’, but it was lost the original role and function in the supervision & management just after 50years past. The fact that degradation from Jinjang of Pohang Changjin into Pohang Granary and the time was made clear by the Record of Pohang Chang(‘Pohang Chang Wan Eui’) in the 7th year of King Jeongjo(1783). It had been a representative granary of the east-coast which was a grain custody & management center until the abolishment by the national law in late 19th Century.
