국문 초록

이 논문은 草廬 李惟泰(1607∼1684)의 四書答問 중 ｢大學答問｣의 편찬 의도, 해석 양상, 당대 학술사적 의미 등을 고찰하기 위한 것이다. 이유 태는 율곡학파의 한 사람으로 『四書答問』, 『庭訓』 등의 저술을 남겼으며, 宋時烈･宋浚吉･尹宣擧･兪槩 등과 막역한 관계를 맺었다. 하지만 그는 정치 적으로는 현달하지 못했으며, 말년에 甲寅禮訟으로 인해 寧邊으로 귀양가는 등의 불우한 삶을 보냈다. ｢大學答問｣은 영변 유배지에서 편찬된 것으로, 총 369조의 문답체로 구 성되어 있다. 수록된 내용은 대부분 대전본 小註의 의문처를 문답하고 있으며, 栗谷 李珥의 ｢大學小註圈評｣에 대한 분석에 절반이 넘는 분량을 할애하고 있다. 일찍이 율곡은 『大學章句大全』 小註에 수록된 여러 학설에 朱黑으로 圈評을 가했는데, 그 내력에 대해선 밝히지 못했었다. 이유태는 율곡이 남긴 ｢大學小註圈評｣의 朱黑에 대한 내력을 조목조목 분석하여 자신의 견해를 제시했다. 이유태의 대학 해석은 주자설을 중심으로 栗谷과 沙溪의 학설을 충실히 계승하고 있다는 특징을 지닌다. 또한 초려는 小註의 해석이 주자의 설과 부합할 경우 이를 긍정적으로 수용하려는 태도를 견지했다. 이는 당대 宋時烈 등 율곡학파의 경학가들이 大全本 小註를 혹평한 것과는 차이를 보인다고 할 수 있다.

영문 초록

The thesis is to make a study of Daejakdapmoon(大學答問)'s intent in compilation, an aspect of interpretation, and scholarly meaning of the day. Yi Yutae(李惟泰), who is one of the Yulgok school, wrote Saseodapmoon(四書答 問), Junghoon(庭訓) and was intimate with Song siyul(宋時烈)･Song jungil (宋浚吉)･Yoon sungoe(尹宣擧)･You gae(兪槩). However, he was not so sagacious politically that he was exiled to Youngbyeon(寧邊) due to Gabinyaesong(甲寅禮訟) the rest of his life. Daehakdapmoon(大學答問) was compiled in a place of exile, Youngbyeon and made up of 369 catechetic writings. Collections mostly carried a doubtful point of a small annotation Saseodaejun(四書大全) and devoted more than a halfpages to an interpretation of Daehaksojugyunpeon(大學小註圈評) of Yulgok (栗谷). Compared to the previous study, there were various changes and progress in the17th century, based on the completion of Korean annotation of Chinese classics in the 16th century, the establishment of the criteria in interpretation, and the intellectuals' self-consciousness through two wars.(Japanese Invasion of Korea in 1592 and Ching's Invasion of Korea in 1636) At an early age, Yulgok commented on the theories of a small annotation witha red color circle(朱黑), but failed to clarify its provenance. Yi Yutae gave his view on Daehaksojugyunpeon(大學小註圈評)'s red color circle by analyzing its history case by case. Yi Yutae's nterpretation of Daehak(大學),which was based on Zhuxi's theory, succeeded truly to the theory of li yi(李珥) and Kim jang saeng(金長生). Furthermore, Yi Yutae tried to embrace the new idea in a positive way in case that 小註's interpretation consisted with Zhuxi's theory. It shows the difference in the point that the scholars of the Yulgok school, such as Song siyul(宋時烈), severely criticized a small annotation Saseodaejun(四書大全).
