영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to examine the differences in cognitive load's level and heart-rate according to the complexity of road conditions. Accuracy and reaction time were measured in three tasks, including the down-town driving, the highway driving, and the control conditions, based upon complexity level (Jahn, Oehme, Krems, and Gelau, 2005). The results showed that there was no significant difference in cognitive load's level between down-town driving and highway driving. In addition, the condition of down-town driving has no significant difference in heart-rate, but that of highway driving has significant difference. The results indicate that the different complexity of road conditions affects driving performance.
