국문 초록

본고의 목적은 우리 한의서가 해외에 어떻게 전해졌으며 해외에 어떠한 영향을 미쳤는지를 파악해 보는 것을 통해 우리 의학의 공간적, 역사적 보편성과 특수성, 즉 우리나라 전통의학의 정체성(identity)을 확인하는 것이다. ‘문화전쟁’이라고까지 규정할 수 있는 이른바 중국의 ‘중의학공정’으로 인해 우리 한의학은 정체성, 또는 독자성(uniqueness)의 재확인과 강화 문제가 무엇보다 중요한 문제로 대두되고 있다. 동북아시아 전통의학의 모든 것이 중의학에서 나왔다는 중국의 주장에 맞서기 위해서는 한국 한의학의 독자성을 확인하는 것이 중요하게 되었다. 이 목표를 달성하기 위하여 그 논리를 뒷받침할 수 있는 실증적 자료의 확보가 반드시 무엇보다 중요한데, 우리는 중국을 중심으로 우리나라 의학서의 간행 및 현존 상황을 현장 조사하여 중국의학에 영향을 미친 우리나라 의학서의 종류와 영향의 구체적 내용을 검토하였다. 이를 통해 우리는 우리나라 의학이 중국과 차별된 독자적인 의학적 행보를 걸었으며, 다른 문화 분야와 마찬가지로 의학 분야도 동북아시아라는 공간적 배경 속에서 역사 속의 상호간의 소통을 통해 양방향적 영향을 주고받았음을 확인하여 ‘중의학공정’에서 제기된 논리의 역사적, 논리적 허구성을 드러내고자 하였다.

영문 초록

This article explores the way Traditional Korean medical books circulated and affected abroad. This will contribute to extract the universality and specificity of traditional Korean medicine in order to map the landscape of East Asian medicine and identify the position of traditional Korean medicine in it. The ‘Northeast Project' - a version of historical war - launched by the Chinese government, expanded to ‘Chinese medicine project', which generated the urgent necessity of identifying and reinforcing the authenticity and legitimacy of traditional Korean medicine. Such an intellectual activity will provide effective logical and political weapons to tackle down the Chinese delusive claim that ‘Everything in traditional medicine comes from China'. This writing's aim is to discover and demonstrate visible evidences of the uniqueness of traditional Korean medicine through listing historical cases where traditional Korean medical books was published in China and influenced Chinese medicine. This will lead to reassuring the public, both abroad and at home, that regional medicines reciprocally interact and influence each other and Chinese medicine should be put forward as one type of regional medicine in Northeast Asia.
