국문 초록

이 연구는 1636년 병자통신사행의 필담창화집을 대상으로 하여 조선과 일본의 문사들의 필담창화 배경을 재구하여 17세기 필담창화집의 성립과 초기형태를 추출하는 데 목적이 있다. 이 시기는 양국 문사의 필담창화가 촉발되었을 뿐 아니라 독자적인 필담창화집이 처음 성립된 때이다. 그 배경에는 일본 京學派 문사의 등장과 사행단 내 吏文學官과 書記 직임의 신설이 있었다. 필담창화집 가운데 접반관의 수행원이었던 和田靜觀窩의 󰡔朝鮮人筆語󰡕는 조선인을 만나 원하는 글을 얻어내는 과정이 세세히 기록되어 있어 하나의 교본으로 활용될 수 있다. 또 교토에 은거한 시인 石川丈山의 󰡔朝鮮筆談集󰡕은 권칙에게 자신의 시집을 건네고 최고의 평가를 얻어내는 과정이 실려 있어, 조선인과의 성공적인 소통방식을 보여준다. 이 2종의 기록은 다음 통신사행 때 출간되어 대중에게 읽혔으며, 조선인의 시문을 열망하던 18세기, 필담창화집의 원형이 되었다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to focus on the collection of written conversations and poems that were exchanged from the "Byeongja" diplomatic mission (丙子通信使行) of 1636 and extract information regarding the establishment and early form of the collection by reconstructing the background of the written conversations and poems exchanged between scholars in Joseon and Japan. This is the period when the exchange of letters began between scholars in both countries and a unique collection was first compiled. In the background of these activities is the appearance of Confucian scholars in Japan and, within the Joseon envoy group, the establishment of a new foreign diplomatic position called "Imunhakgwan" in charge of diplomatic documents and a clerical staff position. Among the collection of letters, "Joseon People’s Handwriting" by Wada Seikanka, who was an attendant of the Jeopbangwan, an official in charge of receiving and entertaining foreign envoys, is a useful text because it records in detail the process of meeting Joseon officials and obtaining their writings. "Collection of Letters with Joseon" by Ishikawa Jojan, a poet who lived in retirement in Kyoto, also records how he gave his collection of poems to Joseon officials and received the highest praise from them. It is another example that shows a successful case of communication with Joseon people. These two types of records were published at the time of the next diplomatic mission and read by the public, and they became the archetype for the collections of diplomatic letters in the 18th century when there was great longing for the poetry and prose of Joseon people.
