캐나다와 한국 두 초등학교 교실의 교육활동 비교

국문 초록

  본 연구는 캐나다와 한국 두 초등학교 각 학급에서 일어나는 교육의 실제, 그 ‘실행’에 초점을 둔 상호 비교를 통해서 두 나라의 초등교육 실행에 대한 질적 이해에 그 목적을 두었다 이를 위해서 두 나라의 초등학교 각 교실에서 6학년 1학기를 이수한 미나의 경험과 교육활동자료, 두 교실 참여관찰 자료와 교사인터뷰 자료를 분석하였다.
  연구 결과 두 교실은 1) 교실 운영의 관점에서 지원운영VS책임운영, 2) 교실의 일과 시작 활동에서 ‘정적상태VS역동적 상태’ 만들기, 3) 교실 수업과 교과운영에서는 초점적 운영VS체계적 운영, 4) 교실-가정(교사-부모) 연계에서 정보공유VS 학교 소식 알림의 형태로 비교되었다.

영문 초록

  This study intended to understand the qualities of detailed activities in classroom through comparative study on the two elementary schools of Canada and Korea. So this study approached to the view point of implementation in school or classroom activities. To this purpose, it was analyzed Mina"s personal experiences, observation data, and teachers" interview data of two classroom.
  As the result of this study, the two classrooms was compared with 1) supportive classroom management VS accountable classroom management, 2) making a quiet place VS making a active place as the starting point of school day, 3) focused teaching and learning VS systemic teaching and learning in class, 4) introducing the sharing informations VS offering news of school and classroom activities for partnership of school and home.
  This study showed that we have to concern the qualities of students" experiences in school, because students actually experience through their daily life in school and classroom rather than educational policy or system.
