아동의 전반적 행복감이 자아존중감에 미치는 영향 : 또래 애착의 매개효과

국문 초록

본 연구는 아동의 전반적 행복감, 또래 애착, 자아존중감 간의 관계를 살펴보고, 아동의 전반적 행복감이 자아존중감에 미치는 영향에서 또래 애착의 매개효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 한국아동패널의 11차년도(2018년) 자료를 활용해 10세 아동 1,349명을 대상으로 자료를 수집하였다. 수집된 자료는 기술통계 분석, Pearson의 상관분석 및 Baron&Kenny(1986) 절차 위계적 회귀분석, Process Macro Model 4를 적용하여 분석하였다. 연구결과는 첫째, 아동의 전반적 행복감, 또래 애착, 자아존중감은 보통 이상의 수준인 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 아동의 전반적 행복감은 또래 애착과 정적인 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났고, 또래 애착과 자아존중감도 정적인 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 전반적 행복감과 자아존중감 또한 정적인 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 아동의 전반적 행복감이 자아존중감에 미치는 영향에서 또래 애착은 부분 매개역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 아동의 자아존중감에 전반적 행복감과 더불어 또래 애착이 중요한 역할을 하고 있음을 의미한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to find ways to improve self-esteem, which is one of the important factors in children’s quality of life. This study examined the relationship between overall happiness, peer attachment, and self-esteem and the mediating role of peer attachment in the effect of children’s overall happiness on self-esteem. The subjects of the study are 1,349 children who participated in the 11th year(2018) of the Korea Children’s Panel, which was collected by the Institute for Child Care Policy. We utilize the SPSS26.0 program to perform frequency analysis, Pearson correlation analysis, Multiple linear regression analysis and Baron & Kenny’s(1986) three-level hierarchical regression analysis. The Process Macro Model 4 was used to test the significance of self-esteem. The results are as follows: First, based on the research, overall happiness was the highest level on average. And the relationship between all the variables that influenced child self-esteem shows that communication and trust and overall happiness during peer attachment have a significant static relationship with children’s self-esteem, but alienation has an inadequate relationship with overall happiness and self-esteem. On the other hand, communication, trust in peer attachment and overall happiness have been shown to have a significant static effect on children’s self-esteem, but alienation in peer attachment has no effect on self-esteem. After examining the mediating role of peer attachment in the influence of overall happiness on self-esteem, it was found that communication and trust played a partial role in self-esteem, and alienation played a full role in self-esteem. Through the Hayes(2013)’ SPSS MACRO of bootstrapping verification, the effect of happiness on self-esteem, peer attachment played a partial role in self-esteem.
