국문 초록

  沈遠悅(1792~1866)은 憲宗ㆍ哲宗(1834~1863) 연간에 주로 활동한 文人으로서 문집 ？？鶴陰散稿？？ 14책이 전한다. 그는 시대적 변화에 남다른 통찰력과 감수성을 보였던 바, ？梁參議傳？은 19세기라는 중세해체기의 마지막 시기를 핍진하게 묘사하고 있는 작품이다. 예컨대, 조선 후기 사회적인 문제로 대두되었던 墓地訟事를 작품의 제재로 삼고 있을 뿐만 아니라 ‘富와 身分의 관계’에서 파생되는 시대상을 정면에서 다루고 있다. 따라서 ？양참의전？에 나타난 현실인식과 현실반영의 문제를 살펴보는 작업은 실로 의미가 있다고 하겠다.   본고에서는 ？양참의전？의 등장인물과 문체에 투영되어 있는 19세기 현실과 그 구체적 양상을 살펴보았다. ？양참의전？에는 가치 판단의 근거가 ‘身分’에서 ‘經濟的 貧富’로 이동하는 변화의 물결 속에서 출현한 다양한 인간군상이 형상화되어 있다. 현실적인 감각이 없는 몰락한 양반이 갈등을 겪고 해결하는 과정에서 현실적인 주변인물들이 대거 등장한다. 결국 ？양참의전？은 중세적인 의식을 고수하는 인물이 중세해체기를 살아가는 과정을 그린 작품이라 할 수 있다.   ？양참의전？의 문체에서도 혼재와 와해의 시대상을 엿볼 수 있다. 신분과 부의 관계가 새롭게 재편성되는 양상을 그리고 있는 작품인 만큼 사대부 문학의 일정한 언어관습의 틀을 깨고 일탈을 꾀한다. 비루하고 일상적인 어휘를 구사하고, 해학과 골계를 통해 통속성을 자아낸다.   ？양참의전？은 서사적 기량이 돋보이는 한문단편소설이다. 18세기에 집중적으로 창작된 한문단편소설이 19세기에 들어 입지가 좁아진 점을 고려해본다면 19세기 중엽에 창작된 작품을 발굴하여 논의하는 것은 소설사적으로 일정한 의의를 지닌다고 할 수 있다.

영문 초록

  Sim Wonyeol(1792~1866) is a literary man who was active primarily during the period(1834~1863) when Heonjong and Cheoljong were on the throne. His collection Hakeumsango composed of fourteen books is transmitted to us. His work Yangchameuijeon resulting from his unusual insight and sensibility into the changes of ages earnestly describes the last period of the medieval deconstructive period called the 19th century. For example, he not only made graveyard suit rising as a social problem in the latter period of the Chosun dynasty the material of the work, but dealt directly with the image of the times derived from a relation between ‘wealth and status". Thus, it will be significant indeed to examine the issues of recognition and reflection of reality.   This thesis explored the reality of the 19th century and its concrete aspects which were projected in the characters and style of the work. The work formalizes various large groups of people emerging from the wave of change that a ground for judging values moved from ‘status" to ‘economic poverty and wealth". Real peripheral characters appear in a mass in the process where ruined yangban without real senses underwent and solved conflicts. Finally, it can be said that the work describes the process where the characters adhering to medieval senses lived in the medieval deconstructive period.   The style of the work shows the image of the times with mixture and collapse. To the extent that it describes the aspect that a relation between status and wealth is newly reorganized the work breaks the frame of given verbal customs in the literature by the gentry and tries to deviate from it. It commands humble and daily vocabulary, and produces vulgarity through humor and comic.   It is a Chinese short novel with remarkable narrative ability. Considering that Chinese short novels created concentratively in the 18th century had their locations narrowed in the 19th century it can be said that it is invariably significant in novel history to excavate and discuss works created in the mid-nineteenth century.
