국문 초록

본 연구는 올바른 문화예술교육정책의 추진을 위한 미술교과의 교육적 논의를 목적으로 하고 있다. 이를 위해 우선 명확한 개념정립이 어려웠던 문화예술교육의 개념을 학교교육을 중심으로 정립하고, ‘주 5일 수업제의 실시’와 ‘e-learning 체제의 확산’ 등 과 관련된 학교교육 환경의 변화에 대한 진단을 토대로 학교 문화예술교육 활성화의 필요성을 이끌어내면서 ‘미술과교육’의 위상을 점검하고자 하였다. 그리고 현 미술과의 교육과정을 중심으로 한 문화예술교육의 현황 및 문제점을 분석하고, 문화예술교육의 활성화를 위한 미술교육적 논의를 다루고자 하였다. 이러한 접근을 통하여 문화예술과 직접적으로 관련된 교과교육 중의 하나인 ‘미술과교육’에서 문화예술교육의 보다 원활한 수행을 위한 점검 및 방향설정을 위한 토대가 마련될 수 있을 것이라 기대한다.

영문 초록

It is critical to consider the subject regarding culture arts in the aspect of culture arts education, in order to maintain the practicality of culture arts educational activities that performed in school. This study, therefore, recognized that art education is one of most basic subject among many other educational activities that held in school education and investigated actual conditions and problems of culture arts education in reality. It is hoped that this study would become an asset to establish a general direction and complement the contents and ways of learning in the newly coming curriculum that would be revised in the near future. It confined the concepts of culture arts education only in the terms of school education, compared to the traditional methods, diverse and sporadic so far. Besides, it reaffirmed the necessity of culture arts education in elementaryㆍmiddle school focusing on the current socialㆍ cultural changes, by refreshing huge impacts of culture arts experiences in the early childhood on lifetime's enjoyment of culture arts afterward. It investigated, in addition, the real conditions and problems of culture arts education, centered on the objectives, contents and methods of the curriculum of current art education, also made an art educational discussion. It is understandable to have a suspicious thinking that art education itself could be defined as a culture arts education. However, as it made an establishment of concept in this study, this differs from conventional methods, because culture arts education was approached by the culture education through art rather than by proposing in the view of art education. Thus, it is needed to make a following study concerning how to converge the concept of culture arts education in art education, and how to reflect it within the frame of the current curriculum of art education. It needs to provide more detail and practical alternatives from analytical approach exploring each grade, each domain, and each content, because this study just introduces the generalities within the frame of whole curriculum of art education. One clear message to here is that original territory of art education should not be ignored. So to speak, it should complement and improve the status of original value of art education - that has been neglected so far - would formulate harmonious personalities by nourishing rich emotions and creativity, developing art sensitivity through aesthetic experience of existing art subject. This is warning the downfall of art education that might be regarded as an instrumental value for culture arts education. Additionally, it proposed that culture arts education should be placed in art education, so that would take a vital role in providing students with opportunities of culture arts experiences, unlike the conservative perception that distorted the subject of art as a decoration for wellrounded education or a subject that simply focuses on art-performing skills under the slogan of one art skill for one child. With this, it will nurture students with a sense of aesthetic in the future society, enabling them to appreciate the art culture and realize qualitative life with culture backgrounds. It is believed that this would activate the culture arts education in the social dimension, and eventually become a solid ground to foster cultural resource of a nation, enhancing the qualities that needed for a citizen with culture.
