국문 초록

기속시는 '민간의 풍속을 시화한다는 뚜렷한 창작의식을 바탕으로, 민간의 풍속과 민중의 생활상을 집중적으로 수용하여, 다양한 한시 양식으로 형상화한 작품'이다. 이는 기속악부와 죽지사로 분류되는 작품을 포괄하는 개념이다. 조선전기의 기속시는 작품 양이 적고 내용도 다양하지 않다. 세시풍속을 묘사한 작품은 단편적으로 발견될 뿐이고, 여성의 생활상을 다룬 작품도 극히 드물다. 특히 서울 시정의 풍물과 세태를 묘사한 작품은 거의 보이지 않는다. 반면에 지방의 민간 풍속을 수집한 작품이 많고, 특히 농민의 풍속을 다룬 것이 절대적 비중을 차지하고 있다. 이와 같은 현상은 조선전기와 조선후기 사회의 전반적 성격 차이에서 가장 큰 원인을 찾을 수 있다. 조선전기에는 연작형 작품이 본격적으로 출현하지 않았다. 그러나 지방의 풍속을 다룬 연작시들이 늘어나고 있다. 특히 국내의 지방을 배경으로 한 죽지사들이 등장한 것은 매우 중요한 변화라 할 수 있다. 조선전기 기속시는 작가의식에서 조선전기 문인 계열의 성격과 관련하여 일정한 경향성을 보여주고 있다. 서거정, 강희맹, 성현 등 관료문인의 작품은 현실감이 떨어지고 농민의 고통의 원인에 대한 진단이 피상적 수준에 머무는 경우가 많다. 김종직, 유호인, 조위 등 김종직 계열의 문인들은 죽지사체를 비롯한 연작시를 채택하여 지방의 민풍 토속의 다양한 국면을 다채롭게 묘사함으로써 연작시가 기속시의 핵심적 양식으로 자리잡는 선례를 마련하였다. 김시습은 민중의 삶의 현장에 밀착하여 그들의 참상을 폭로하고 문제의 핵심을 파해침으로써 가장 예리한 현실인식을 보여주고 있다. 삼당파 문인과 임제는 여성과 농민들의 생활상을 민가적 정취를 살려서 정감있게 그려내고 지방의 민풍 토속과 여류감정을 낭만적으로 잘 살려내었다. 조선전기 기속시는 작품양이 적고 경향도 단조롭지만 고유의 전래풍속을 제재로 수용하여 자국 문화에 대한 자긍심을 표현하고 민족정서를 형상화하였다. 그리고 지방의 지역적 특징과 지역민의 생활상을 본격적으로 한시 제재로 수용한 점은 한시사에서 매우 의미 있는 현상이라 할 수 있다. 특히 농민과 봉건지배계층의 대립 구조를 드러내면서 농민들의 고통을 대변하고 관의 수탈을 폭로 비판하는 작품이 광범위하게 확인되는 점은 조선전기 기속시의 의미 있는 성취라 할 수 있다.

영문 초록

Kisok-poetry is the poetry that is written in the style of Chinese Poetry, expecially including the culture and life of people, based on a distinctive consciousness of creation, the poetization of civil customs. It is a general concept of works that classified into 'Kisokakbu' and 'Jukjisa'. Kisok-poetry mostly describes customs of the people of the lower classes in realistic way, like the original customs of people, the local life style of each region, and the life of farmers and women. Therefore, it shows the emotion and the mood of people and regional atmosphere strongly. In Early Chosun Dynasty, there are a few Kisok-poetry, and their contents are not various. The works of description of customs are founded only fragmentarily, and there are not many works about life of women. Especially, there are few works about the things and the social conditions of Seoul. There are a lot of collections of customs of provinces and the works about the farm. This is because of the characteristic differences between the Early Chosun and the Late Chosun society. In Early Chosun, there are not much 'Yeonjak-poems(the several sub-poems related with the theme of a certain poetry)'. Therefore, generally there are more long 'Goche-poetry' than 'Geunche-poetry'. However, there are more and more Yeonjak- poetry, which is about the customs of provinces. Particularly, it is a very important change, the advent of Jukjisa that are about regional customs. In Early Chosun, Kisok-poetry represents the racial emotion and the pride of their culture by using traditional customs as a theme, there are not much Kisok-poetry and the trend is simple though. In addition, it is very significant that the characteristics of regions and the life in there were used as the theme of the Chinese poetry in earnest. Particularly, it is the greatest achievement of Kisok-poetry in Early Chosun that there are many works, which expose and criticize the extortion by government and speak for peasants` painful life showing the antagonism between peasantry and the ruling class of the fuedal system.
