청각장애아동의 틀린 믿음 이해：언어능력과의 관계

국문 초록

본 연구는 청각장애아동은 틀린 믿음 이해에 지연을 보인다는 선행연구 결과가 과제 수행과정에서 아동에 대한 언어적 요구를 최소화한 비언어과제에서도 동일하게 나타나는가를 살피고, 아울러 언어능력이 청각장애아동의 틀린 믿음 과제 수행에 미치는 영향을 숙고하기 위한 것이었다. 청각장애아동(4, 5세 30명)과 건청아동(4, 5세 40명)에게 전통적인 틀린 믿음 언어과제와 비언어과제를 함께 실시하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 청각장애아동은 언어과제, 비언어과제 모두에서 건청아동에 비해 지연된 수행을 보였으며, 둘째, 청각장애아동의 언어과제, 비언어 과제 수행은 언어능력과 상관이 있었다. 이러한 연구결과는 청각장애아동의 언어발달 지연은 틀린 믿음 이해에 근본적으로 영향을 미친다는 것을 의미한다.

영문 초록

The preceding studies show that the hearing impaired children are delayed in respect to false belief understanding, and this research observes if the hearing impaired children is also delayed in respect to nonverbal tasks which minimizes the linguistic requirement. Moreover, the research deliberates if the linguistic ability of hearing impaired children influences the performance of false belief task. A traditional verbal and nonverbal false belief task was given to hearing impaired children (30 children aged from 4 to 5) and hearing children (40 children aged from 4 to 5). The result of research showed that performance of hearing impaired children was inferior to that of hearing children on both verbal and nonverbal tasks. Second, the performance of hearing impaired children was related to linguistic ability. The research result implies that delay of hearing impaired children on learning language fundamentally influences the development of false belief understanding.
