선택기회제공 및 교수가 중도정신지체유아의 의사표현력에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 중도의 정신지체유아들에게 선택 기회를 제공하고 선택 기술을 가르침으로써 이러한 지도가 그들의 의사표현력에 미치는 영향을 알아보는 것이다. 이러한 목적을 위해서 유아특수학교에 재학중인 5명의 중도정신지체유아들을 대상으로 선택 기회를 제공하고 선택기술교수를 하였으며 그 결과를 RACS와 COF를 사용하여 통합 분석하였다. 그 결과, 선택 기회를 제공하고 선택 기술을 가르친다고 해서 아동의 의사표현능력이 유의하게 향상되지는 않았지만, 관찰을 통한 질적 분석에 따르면 선택 상황에서의 의사표현력에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤다. 이러한 결과는 중도의 정신지체 유아들도 선택 기술을 배울 수 있으며, 선택기회제공 및 교수는 그것만으로는 아동의 의사표현능력을 향상시킬 수 없지만 아동의 의사표현능력 향상을 위한 종합적인 프로그램에 반드시 포함되어야할 중요한 교수내용임을 시사한다. 그러나 이 연구는 탐색적인 연구로서 이 연구의 결과를 일반화하기 위해서는 추가적인 연구가 필요하다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of Choice-making Opportunity Offer and Instruction on Communication of the severely retarded children during early childhood by giving choice-making opportunity and teaching choice-making skills if needed. To achieve this purpose, We offered choice-making opportunity, teached choice-making skills to five children with severe mental retardation who are four or five years old and examined the results with RACS(Responsiveness and Assertiveness in Conversational Skills Rating Scale) and COF(Communication Observation Form). The summary of the analyzed results of this study is as follows: First, the severely retarded children during early childhood were able to learn choice-making skills. Subject 3, 4, 5 could acquire choice-making skills because they were instructed. Second, Their communication ability was not improved significantly. but, Choice-making instruction had a positive effect on children's communication ability in condition they should choose something. The implication of this study is as follows: First, the severely retarded children are able to lean choice-making skills and should be taught during early childhood. Second, Choice-making opportunity and instruction are an essential part of comprehensive programs to improve communication ability of children with severe mental retardation. Third, the results of this study are restricted because its sample were small and because it was done by quasi-experimental design. therefore, more studies are needed.
