공자의 수사修辭 분석을 통한 오미사악五美四惡의 타당성 및 유효성 고찰

국문 초록

본 연구는 공자가 제시한 오미사악(五美四惡) 개념을 현대 정치와 사회에 적용하여 그 타당성과 유효성을 탐구하였다. 오미(五美)는 지도자가 갖추어야 할 다섯 가지 미덕을, 사악(四惡)은 피해야 할 네 가지 악덕을 의미한다. 연구 방법으로는 각 개념에 대한 역사적 사례와 현대적 적용 사례를 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 오미의 원칙들은 현대 지도자에게도 요구되는 중요한 덕목으로 확인되었다. 사악의 개념들 역시 현대 사회에서 여전히 문제가 되는 행위들로 나타났다. 이러한 분석을 통해 오미사악 이론이 현대 정치와 사회 문제를 해결하는 데 유용한 지침이 될 수 있음을 확인하였다. 본 연구는 고전적 정치 철학이 현대 사회에서도 여전히 유효하며, 이를 재해석하고 적용함으로써 더 나은 사회와 정치 시스템을 구축할 수 있다는 점을 시사한다.

영문 초록

This study explores the validity and effectiveness of applying Confucius's concept of Five Virtues and Four Vices五美四惡, to modern politics and society. The Five Virtues represent five merits that a leader should possess, while the Four Vices are four evils to be avoided. The research method involved analyzing historical cases and modern applications for each concept. The results showed that the principles of the Five Virtues are still important qualities required of modern leaders. The concepts of the Four Vices were also found to be behaviors that remain problematic in modern society. Through this analysis, it was confirmed that the theory of Five Virtues and Four Vices can serve as a useful guide for solving modern political and social problems. This study suggests that classical political philosophy is still valid in modern society, and that by reinterpreting and applying it, we can build a better society and political system.
