유아 존댓말 사용 및 상호작용 척도의 개발 및 타당화

국문 초록

본 연구는 유아의 존댓말 사용 능력과 유아 존댓말에 대한 부모의 신념, 지도, 훈육을 측정하는 척도를 개발하고 타당도와 신뢰도를 확인하고자 수행되었다. 먼저 유아 존댓말 발달 및 부모 존댓말 지도 분야의 문헌 검토, 연구진 논의, 내용타당도 및 안면타당도 검토를 통해 예비 문항을 개발하였다. 설문조사를 실시하여 317명의 유아기 자녀를 둔 어머니에게 예비 문항에 응답하도록 한 후, 척도의 구성 요인을 확인하고 타당도와 신뢰도를 통계적으로 검증하였다. 구체적인 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 유아 존댓말 사용 및 상호작용 척도는 6개 요인(유아 존댓말 사용, 유아 인사말 사용, 유아 공손성, 부모 존댓말 신념, 부모 존댓말 지도, 부모 존댓말 훈육) 25개 문항으로 구성되었다. 둘째, 통계 분석을 통해 유아 존댓말 사용 및 상호작용 척도의 집중타당도, 판별타당도, 공인타당도, 신뢰도를 검증하였다. 결과적으로 이 척도는 이론적, 통계적으로 타당도와 신뢰도를 갖추었기에 우리나라 유아의 화용론 발달을 평가할 뿐 아니라 부모의 존댓말 신념, 지도, 훈육과 유아의 존댓말 사용 간 관계를 밝히는 데 활용될 수 있다.

영문 초록

This study aims to develop the scale to measure South Korean preschoolers’ ability to use honorifics and parents’ belief, guidance, and discipline for preschoolers’ use of honorifics and to verify its validity and reliability. We developed preliminary items through previous literature review, discussion among researchers, and verification of content validity and face validity. After 317 mothers of preschoolers answered the questionnaire about children’s honorifics use and their guidance, we identified constructs of the scale and verified the validity and reliability of the scale with Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA), Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA), and correlation analysis. The results of the study are as follows. First, Korean honorifics use and interaction scale for preschoolers consisted of 25 items under six constructs: preschoolers’ use of honorifics, preschoolers’ use of greetings, preschooler’s politeness, parents’ honorifics beliefs, parents’ honorifics guidance, and parents’ honorifics discipline. Second, we verified the convergent validity, discriminant validity, and concurrent validity of the scale. In conclusion, as the developed scale was verified to have theoretical and statistical validity and reliability, this scale can be used to evaluate South Korean preschoolers’ pragmatic development and its relation with parents’ honorifics beliefs, guidance, and discipline.
