성인이행기 청년의 사회적 관계망 인식 및 독립의향과의 관계: 청년 삶 실태조사 결과를 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구는 성인이행기 청년의 독립의향에 미치는 사회적 관계망 인식 요인의 영향력을 검증하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 전국 17개 시도의 19세 ~ 34세 청년 가구를 대상으로 한 2022년 청년 삶 실태조사 자료 중 부모 동거 남녀 청년 7,755명의 자료를 활용하여 기술통계, 교차분석 및 이항 로지스틱 회귀분석을 실시하였으며, 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 청년들의 주요 도움의 원천은 가족이었고, 지인, 공공기관, 민간기관을 도움의 원천으로 인식하는 경향은 매우 낮아 청년 집단 전반에서 관계망 취약성이 나타났다. 둘째, 성별, 지역, 지역, 학력, 취업상태, 가구소득과 같은 청년의 인구사회학적 특성 및 선호 관계망 유형, 관계망 크기와 같은 사회적 관계망 인식 모두 독립의향에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 변인들의 상대적 영향력을 확인한 결과, 여성에 비해 남성이, 수도권에 비해 비수도권이, 비경제활동 집단에 비해 실업자 집단 및 취업자 집단이, 가구소득 1분위 집단이 4분위, 3분위, 2분위 집단에 비해, 관계망 크기가 큰 집단이 작은 집단에 비해 독립의향을 가질 가능성이 더 크게 나타났다. 본 연구는 청년의 사회적 관계망 인식이 독립의향에 미치는 영향력을 실증적으로 밝혀, 사회적 관계망 활용을 촉진할 수 있는 제도적 지원 및 전달체계가 개선될 필요가 있음을 논의하였다.

영문 초록

This study aims to verify the influence of socio-demographic factors and social network perceptions on the independence intentions of emerging adults. Descriptive statistics, cross-tabulation analysis, and binary logistic regression were performed on a sample of 7,755 young adults living with their parents, selected from the 2022 Youth Life Survey conducted among male and female young adults aged 19 to 34 in 17 provinces nationwide. The results indicate the following. First, family was the primary source of assistance, and the perception of friends, public institutions, and private organizations was very low, indicating overall social network vulnerability among young adults. Second, socio- demographic characteristics such as gender, region, education, employment status, household income, as well as preferred social network sources and network size, were significantly associated with independence intentions. Third, the probability of independence intention increased as the size of the social network increased. This study empirically highlights the influence of young adults' social network perceptions on independence intentions and discusses the need for more sophisticated institutional support and improved delivery systems to promote the utilization of social networks.
