국문 초록

본 연구는 초등학생의 행복감에 대한 어머니의 권위주의적인 양육행동, 아동의 또래애착과 학업스트레스의 구조적 관계를 확인하고자 하였으며, 특히 어머니의 권위주의적인 양육행동과 초등학생의 행복감 간의 관계에서 또래애착과 학업스트레스의 순차적 이중매개효과를 규명하는 데 목적을 두었다. 한국아동패널 11차년도 자료(2018)에서 초등학교 4학년 아동 1,384명과 그들의 어머니의 자료를 활용하였으며, SPSS 23.0과 AMOS 23.0을 통해 Pearson의 적률상관분석과 구조방정식모형 분석을 실시하였다. 첫째, 아동의 또래애착과 학업스트레스는 행복감에 정적인 영향을 미쳤다. 둘째, 어머니의 권위주의적인 양육행동은 아동의 또래애착과 학업스트레스 각각을 매개로 하여 행복감에 간접적인 영향을 미쳤다. 셋째, 어머니의 권위주의적인 양육행동과 아동의 행복감 간의 관계에서 또래애착과 학업스트레스의 순차적 이중매개효과가 나타났다. 본 연구는 어머니가 권위주의적인 양육행동을 강하게 보이는 것이 학령기 자녀의 또래애착을 약화시키고, 그 다음 학업스트레스를 증가시켜 궁극적으로 행복감 저하를 가져올 수 있음을 보였다. 나아가 이 연구를 통해 아동의 행복감 증진을 위해 어머니의 권위주의적인 양육행동에 대한 중재와 학업스트레스 완화를 위한 대처자원인 또래애착 증진의 중요성에 대해 논의하고 지원방안과 관련한 제언을 하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to confirm the structural relationship between mothers' authoritarian parenting behavior, elementary school students' peer attachment, and academic stress on happiness, and examine sequential double mediating effects of peer attachment and academic stress. Data from 1,384 children in the fourth grade of elementary school and their mothers were used from the 11th year of the Korean Children's Panel (2018), and structural equation model analysis were conducted through SPSS 23.0 and AMOS 23.0. First, children's peer attachment and academic stress had a direct effect on their happiness. Second, the mother's authoritarian parenting behavior had an indirect effect on happiness through the child's peer attachment and academic stress. Third, a sequential double mediating effect of peer attachment and academic stress appeared in the relationship between the mother's authoritarian parenting behavior and the child's happiness. This study showed that the mother's strong authoritarian parenting behavior can weaken school-age children's peer attachment and increase academic stress, leading to a decrease in happiness. Furthermore, to improve children's happiness, the importance of mediating mothers' authoritarian parenting behavior and promoting peer attachment as a coping resource for alleviating academic stress was discussed and support was suggested.
