예비유아교사의 은유(metaphor) 표현에 나타난 ‘좋은 놀이’에 대한 인식

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 예비유아교사들을 대상으로 좋은 놀이에 대한 은유 분석을 통해 그들이 좋은 놀이에 대해 어떻게 인식하고 있으며 어떤 의미를 부여하는지 살펴봄으로써 유아교사 양성과정에서 놀이 이론 교수-학습 구성에 필요한 기초 자료를 제공하는데 있다. 본 연구 목적을 달성하기 위해 수도권 전문대학에 재학 중인 예비유아교사 80명을 대상으로 좋은 놀이를 은유적으로 표현하고 그 이유를 서술하도록 하였다. 분석 결과 좋은 놀이는 ‘좋은 놀이의 양상’, ‘좋은 놀이의 기능’, ‘좋은 놀이의 환경’ 등 3가지로 구분되었으며, ‘좋은 놀이의 양상’은 ‘긍정적 정서가 수반된 놀이’, ’자유롭게 선택하고 펼쳐나가는 놀이’, ‘관심 및 흥미가 반영된 놀이’, ‘상상력과 창의력이 발휘되는 놀이’, ‘다양하게 변형되는 놀이’ , ‘유아 주도적인 놀이’, ‘지속되는 놀이’, ‘확장되는 놀이’로 범주화 되었다. ‘좋은 놀이의 기능’은 ‘발달의 촉진’, ‘배움’, ‘스트레스 해소’로 구분 되었다. ‘좋은 놀이의 환경’은 ‘교사의 지원이 있는 놀이’, ‘교사의 관찰이 있는 놀이’, ‘안전에 대한 고려가 있는 놀이’, ‘놀이 환경이 갖추어진 놀이’로 범주화되었다. 본 연구 결과는 예비유아교사들의 좋은 놀이에 대한 인식을 살펴봄으로써 예비교사교육 시 놀이 이해 및 지원 역량 강화를 위한 기초 자료를 제시하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to provide basic data on teacher education by examining how pre-service early childhood teachers perceive good play and what meaning they give through metaphor analysis of the ‘good play.’ To achieve the purpose of this study, 80 pre-service early childhood teachers attending colleges in the metropolitan area were asked to metaphorically express good play and explain the reason. As a result, it was classified into three categories: ‘aspects of good play,’ ‘functions of good play’ and ‘environment for good play.’ The ‘aspects of good play’ was categorized into ‘play with positive emotions,’ ‘play that is freely selected and performed,’ ‘play that reflects interest and preference,’ ‘play which is revealed imagination and creativity,’ ‘play that is transformed in various ways,’ ‘child-led play,’ ‘sustained play’ and ‘expanded play.’ The ‘functions of good play’ was categorized into ‘relieving stress,’ ‘promoting development’ and ‘learning.’ The ‘environment for good play’ was categorized into ‘safe play,’ ‘a well-stocked playing environment,’ ‘play with teacher observation’ and ‘play with teacher support.’ The results of this study are significant in that it presented basic data to strengthen the ability to understand and support play in pre-service teacher education by examining the perception of pre-service early childhood teachers about good play.
